Stayed here on the way to the West Fjords. Unfortunately the facilities were a bit dirty and in disrepair. Everything (the walls, appliances, doors) have writing in black marker everywhere giving instructions. It was very confusing and gave me an odd feeling.

The shower I used had a clogged drain and it flooded the room, and I knew other people had this problem because later I saw water splashed everywhere outside the door and wet footprints leading away. There seems to be only one working outlet in the common area as the rest are duct taped over. They also advertise that they have laundry facilities, but again there is confusing writing all over the machines and both the washer and dryer had items in them for the entire time I was here. It looked like maybe bedding for one of the cabins. Either way, the wet sheets stayed balled up in the washer for almost an entire day and no one seemed to come check on them.

There’s a lot of road noise from the highway and very little privacy here. The staff were friendly but I saw some practices I didn’t agree with - like filling a cleaning bottle with generic handsoap to clean the bathrooms. As 2000ISK is on average what you pay to camp in Iceland it wasn’t worth it, I stayed in Hellisandur for the same price and that place was great. I’d recommend elsewhere in the area.

After 8 nights of camping around ring road, this is the only campsite we arrived to and then left. We pulled in and immediately started looking for a different campsite- it gave us the creeps that this is just the parking lot/yard for an elementary school, and from your van you can see many other buildings, the street, the gas station, etc. No privacy at all, plus no reception or anyone there to greet you. We bailed for Laugar just 16 minutes up the road which I highly recommend instead.

arrived soaking wet and was happy about the warm shower and that the woman collecting the fees suggested to sleep in one of the unfinished huts instead of putting up my tent! this made everything much easier and it’s crazy how friendly she was. could even sleep until midday in there, having a lot of space and no tent that gets almost blown away by the wind, haha. they are building 3 cozy warm huts on the camping for making it very attractive to spend nights there even in deep winter! In the warm lounge I could heat my food in the microwave. Camping totally recommended.

Clean showers (free to use), nice bathrooms and an outdoor sink for rinsing dishes. Also had a clean drinking water pump. Someone came around 8pm to each camper van and you were able to pay her with card or Apple Pay.

The property location was convenient to local sights and the rooms were spacious enough. Had the weather agreed with our visit, it would've been the perfect location for viewing the Northern Lights. The parking lot and sidewalks could be improved at the property so that it's easier for guests to move their luggage in and out of their rooms to their vehicles. The beds were comfortable. There was no living room space with couches anywhere on the property and no TV. The room was spacious as was the bathroom. Longer shower curtains are needed so water doesn't flow all over the floor. We had a three bed room. The corner shelf was placed right above where a head be located on the bed, which is a safety concern. We ended up rotating the pillow so that my father's head wouldn't hit the corner shelf. The restuarant was okay but there weren't a lot of choices and it wasn't open very late and we were kicked out and had to sit on our beds and just talk in our room.

We stayed here on our way to the west fjords. It was a quick overnight stay. We ate dinner at the hotel and the food was good. Breakfast was included. We took a nice walk around town in the evening and also in the morning. There’s a grocery store in town which is in walking distance from the hotel. We had a private bathroom.

A great guesthouse with nice rooms and showers. Beware however, that there is NOT a kitchen or fridge available for guests like is shown in the ******* posting photos.

We enjoyed lunch at Dalakot, which included a chicken salad, two lamb dishes as well as a pizza, all reasonably priced compared to the rest of Iceland! The lamb was among the best we had in Iceland, and the other dishes also hit the mark. Dalakot is a great recommended place to eat if you are in the area!
