Hotel was clean and nice. Location is 1.5hr away to Vik etc but was a great stop for us coming down from the north. Didn’t manage to see any aurora here as the weather was cloudy.

1. Make sure to walk about the historic sights. So interesting! Lovely little village. 2. The wait staff at the restaurant was so nice! 3. The food at the restaurants wasn’t great — way too salty and seasoned and the vegan option had no protein. Easy location — 2 hours from the airport and the drive was scenic.

Good and quiet. Room is not quite ready as the shampoo & shower gel had ran out and was not replaced. Otherwise, good Fosshotel level of service and rooms. Happy hour from 4-6pm, 900ISK for Gull draft beers. Wine pairing- mega pint of wine served. Haha

Far from the city, good service

The stay was pleasant. The room was quite large and the bed comfortable! All in all, it was a successful stay.

Really lovely hotel. Everything great, only downside was the location. We hadn’t realised how far out it was from everything. Great for seeing northern lights but at least a 2 hour drive to lots of the popular sights.

We had a great stay at the end of our trip, rooms are comfortable and clean. They have a great restaurant, one of the best dinners we had in Iceland. The breakfast is also good.

The hotel is in a great location, next to the town church, convenient, with plenty of parking spaces, friendly staff, and many rooms. The rooms are not very big, but overall they are clean and well-maintained, and the hot water is hot enough. It is worth a try.

Following the movie "The Happy Wedding", I came to the small town of Styghiholmur on the Karsnjamena Peninsula and stayed there for 2 nights. It felt good, with convenient parking and easy access to dining in the town center.

The hotel is located in the heart of town, within walking distance of various supermarkets, restaurants, and attractions. The room has a great view. I recommend going to the community center next door to enjoy the local hot spring pool and sauna.

The hotel is located right next to the Stykkishólmskirkja Church, and around 10-15mins walk to the city centre/ferry terminal. It is a convenient stop for us travelling from the north to the west side of Iceland. The hotel room has a nice view. Basic amenities are available. The shower room is only separated from the toilet by a ‘moveable’ glass and water might spill elsewhere when you shower. Overall...

I was very satisfied with everything. I only wanted to stay here for one night when I made the reservation. When I arrived, it exceeded my expectations. This is the hotel with the largest and best rooms during my 10 days in Iceland.

We stayed one night at this hotel, the hotel is family run & is staffed. They have a hot tub & sauna available as well. The rooms are quiet, clean & cozy. Nothing super amazing about this hotel but decent. The views are pretty good from here as a river runs beside & they have a nice fountain out front. They didn't shovel the snow until much later in the day. Ample parking here for free.

Lovely staff. We really just needed a place to stay for the evening while traveling around the country. Location was easy to access for us.

After a long day travel, we arrived early at 3 o’clock, and we’re very disappointed that we could not even sit in a lobby. Accommodations Work great and the staff were very helpful. We were hoping to leave early to start the golden ring circle before the crowds however, breakfast does not start until 8 o’clock, which is a little late for trying to get an early start..

The kitchen is fabolous. Buffet with local dishes, e.g. 5 (five!) different fish dishes and an excellent fish soupe at the evening buffet. One of our best food experiences in Iceland

Everyone from the staff was very friendly and helpful. We had dinner on our second evening. The selection and quality of fresh seafood and fish was amazing and very delicious. Definitely worth the money. They had a little play area for kids in the lobby which kept our son quite happy and busy.

We made a reservation for this restaurant at the end of a long day of driving. We were running late for the reservation and they were very accommodating! Also, their food was amazing! The fish soup, veggie curry, and mussels were delicious!

Great secluded camp site behind the guest house. Right next to the beautiful beach. And best thing: you can have breakfast in the guesthouse which is quite nice. Lovely staff and owners.

This is a guest house on a 9 hole golf course. It has lovely views in all directions. It also has ample parking. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with either a terrace or a balcony. The restaurant is very good as is breakfast. Stand out are the staff who are incredibly friendly and helpful. The only minor downside is that some rooms (Rooms 12*) are a long walk from reception and down some stairs...

My favorite spot that I stayed in Iceland. Beautiful large rooms and I loved my balcony with views of the ocean and mountains. They also had a wonderful selection of food at breakfast with options I didn’t see anywhere else on my trip. I will be returning next time I am in Iceland.

Hotel Husafell is a beautiful place to get away and enjoy the idyllic Iceland countryside. Lovely paths to walk on, gorgeous views, thermal heated pools, and an awesome happy hour and restaurant. The food was outstanding. The staff at the Husafell Hotel were also most helpful and kind. Maybe on my next visit there, I will be able to see the northern lights!

Fantastic Hotel and staff are very nice. The food in the restaurant is excellent!! The provided breakfast has a lot of options, both American and Icelandic. We didn’t have time to enjoy the pool but it looked very nice and saw a number of people using it. The hotel is quiet and our room was large and had a great view.

Fantastic restaurant and walking distance to great hiking. Terrible beds and pillows. Misleading pictures as they show a spa that is not the hotel spa but rather a very costly spa nearly. They do have a steam room and hot pools and a cold plunge pool but it looks nothing like the natural springs on the ******* profile.

Nice location out in the mountains. Food was excellent at their restaurant. The canyon baths were amazing! It is a little bit away from everything, but that’s a lot of its appeal.

The restaurant on site was incredible. We ate dinner there: scallop appetizer, cod, salad, and pea ice cream for dessert. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. Likewise, the breakfast buffet was delightful with a good array of choices.

The decor, facilities, and towels were rather old, but the room was fairly large and the breakfast was quite plentiful. After checking in, while I was taking a shower, the receptionist knocked loudly on the door. Thinking it was an emergency, I quickly came out of the bathroom to open it. This hotel serves as a base for exploring the West Coast, offering travelers a warm welcome from the relentless Icelandic winds. The free use of the heated outdoor bath was fantastic. I would definitely return.

The luxury cabin was worth it; the large floor-to-ceiling windows opened onto a lawn, offering a panoramic view of the aurora borealis.

The hotel boasts a beautiful golf course, which is a pleasant place to stroll around after breakfast in the morning, leaving you feeling refreshed. Dinner is also delicious. Although the hotel is not in the town center, it is perfect for a vacation. The only drawback is that the bathrooms are relatively small.

Staying at this hotel on the way back to Reykjavik from the Snæfellsnes Peninsula is a great option, as the surrounding environment is beautiful. The hotel rooms are spacious and clean, the restaurant serves delicious food, and there's a wake-up call at night to remind guests to watch for the Northern Lights. I'm giving 3.5 points to the male receptionist for his excellent service. He was always proactive in asking if I needed help when he saw I had a problem. When my room's heating wasn't working, even though he was busy, he first sent a colleague to check it out (though that person was pretty dismissive, just telling me to wait and that it would heat up soon 🙄). The rooms are amazing, the beds are really comfortable and everything is very modern. We arrived late at night and were still able to check in so that removed a lot of the pressure for us on the road.

This was a gem in the region. We booked this last minute on our day in the Snæfellsnes peninsula and boy was it a good choice. They have both independent cottages ( more expensive) and shared accommodation, but the shared accomodation was way more than we expected. Stayed here for two nights and booked two rooms in preparation for a wedding. Excellent accommodations and dinner at the restaurant was very good. Loved the spa and steam room.

We stayed in one of the 2 bedroom houses for two nights, and had a great stay. Very clean and well furnished accommodations, friendly staff, and the restaurant on site had great food, including the buffet breakfast. The only small negative I would say is that the windows and glass doors do not have any type of blinds or curtains so not much in the way of privacy if that’s something you’re concerned...

While we were excited to be in Iceland to take in the landscape and sights, Hotel Budir was a whole experience in itself. Check in was very easy . It took perhaps 2 minutes! The receptionist was knowledgeable and appeared to be able to speak several languages. We stayed in the newer wing of the hotel which was very lovely. The rooms were spacious and the interior was very modern. The hotels restaurant also served delicious food though there are not many other options near by. I woild stay here again.

I've visited last night for 1 night and everything was amazing! The hostess accepted us with a smile on her face and helped us with everything we asked. We booked triple room, the room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was very tasty! Go visit!

There are not many hotels in Snæfellsnes Peninsula. This one is a good distance from attractions such as Straw Hat Mountain. The breakfast is also very delicious. The only drawback is that the steak and lamb chops for dinner are a bit too dry.

Been on a 11 day trip in iceland and almost stayed at a different place every night, this was the worst stay. Long list of issues, found hair in Pasta (although they replaced when reported), rooms too clumsy, water too slow in washroom, etc etc. Long story short.. Wouldn't recommend

This is the second time we have stayed here. It is a gorgeous hotel in a beautiful part of Iceland. The staff are absolutely amazing! Very friendly, helpful & kind to all guest - think that what makes staying here so wonderful.. not to mention the spectacular views

My husband loved this place. It’s always hard to rate these types of places because everybody’s looking for something different and it is very casual here. We loved how casual it was. The rooms were so cool. I would’ve loved to have had time to hide the area. We were very pleased with this place and would stay here again.

The hotel was a gem to find. It has a church inside and if you are there at the right time you can hear the choir sing. The staff in the evening and morning were extremely nice and helpful. The room and bathroom were tastefully decorated and very clean. We had an ocean view which added to the overall charm. The breakfast and sitting area were also wonderful (see pic). it was a very special experience to spend one night in this hotel, because when I was 5 to 6 years old I was in a preschool where the hotel breakfast is today. Another thing that was really special was that there is a Catholic church inside the hotel. good breakfast great staff. great location. good hotel room.

Loved, loved, loved this hotel... from the mind-blowing view (Room 216) to Magda, the ultra friendly and helpful person at the reception desk. The room was so clean and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The complementary breakfast was delicious. The location is perfect...it's right next to the dock where the boats leave for Flatey Island. I wish I could have stayed here for a week.

I spent three days at this hotel. Good location. The room was nothing fancy. But it clean and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent. And the staff were friendly and helpful. I would be more than happy to stay here again.

I booked the wrong room initially, but the hotel changed it readily via email, and the service was excellent. They even have a shared hot tub and sauna! 👍 You can cook in the village house, but it's not as spacious as a guesthouse. The breakfast selection was very extensive!

Clean, new cabin near the water. Bedding was comfortable, the bathroom was clean and functional, and the small equipped kitchenette was nice. The breakfast was good but not great.

I stayed for two nights in a modern cabin close to the beach, which I think they refer to as a "luxury cottage". Friendly staff, clean & comfortable room with kitchenette including a microwave and mini fridge. A simple but filling breakfast each morning at the main building was included in the price. Brilliant! I would stay here again.

First I would like to mention that we stayed in the cottage, so my review is about it. Easy check in. The property is 5 minutes from town on a beach area, so there nothing around. We loved it. The floor is warm, even though there are strong winds at night in the area, there is no one talking around. The sound of the wind is like natural white noise, and there are mini bar drinks, tea, and coffee included in the accommodation price. The service staff are very good, and the environment is very quiet except for natural factors. It is bright and clean, and the air is not cold at all

Everything was great about this place. The staff was very friendly and nice. The room was extremely clean with everything. The shower was wonderful with very hot water. The breakfast included was superb. And we got to see the Northern Lights.

We had such a great stay at Lysuholl!! Honestly it could not have been better. Our room was very clean and pretty and we could actually see nothern lights out of the window. Our group was struck by strong winds and we were not able to move forward in our return back at our hotel. This one offered us a very warm hospitality, with hot tea, water, cake and they also cooked for us soup. We had the chance to rest, charge our phones and wait for the storm to slow down. Many thanks to our local guide Birgir Baldursson.

As we were returning to Reykjavík, the weather got much worse, with strong winds and a heavy snowstorm, making it impossible not to stop somewhere. There were 40 of us, and they hosted all of us for a few hours until the weather calmed down. They prepared delicious fish and tomato soups for us. We got stuck in a road nearby due to strong winds and these amazing people took as in. Served as tea , cake and the most tasty soup. The facilities were really clean. I can't recommend them enough!!!!! If I ever visit Iceland again I will defently stay in this hotel. Hopefully with better weather

Comfortable bed - the most comfortable out of all our stays in Iceland. Small cozy room with very nice bathroom. We liked visiting the farm animals. Restaurant was great, farm to table.

Lovely hotel in a stunning location. Very family friendly with farm animals on the doorstep. Hot tub that's open 24hrs and an outdoor covered fireplace for those chilly evenings when you want to sit round a real fire. Not a luxury hotel but that's not what we were after.

Difficult to find a single fault with our stay here in May 2022. Comfortable rooms and nice shower. Wonderful outdoor hot tub overlooking the beautiful scenery. Helpful staff and a tasty menu for both dinner and breakfast. A great rest and some long drives and hikes.

This place is a must stay!!! This has been our only stay 100% worth the price. The rooms are the biggest we have stayed in Iceland, you get a pretty bug bathroom as well. There is a fire pit, hot tubs, and animals. They staff is extremely friendly and nice. The food here was absolutely delicious as well, and the steaks are from the farm! I definitely recommend this place.

The restaurant is top-notch with a selection of great, locally-sourced, dishes. Hot tubs overlooking the nearby mountains are nice too.

A great hotel to see the Northern Lights in West Iceland. Each container room has one side entirely made of glass, so you can observe the Northern Lights from your room. Maybe because the location is a bit remote, but the cost-effectiveness is really good.

The staff was very nice and accommodating. Make sure to be in contact with the staff before you check in as the hotel might be locked if you get there early. The location is perfect if you want to visit Kirkjufell Mountain and the waterfall.

They didn’t respect the two beds and send us to instead just one. Also with a late checkin it was very complicated since we needed to ask someone to let us in to the hotel. Breakfast was ok. Tiny rooms.

Well, the rooms are really nice and cozy, the staff is really kind, I have to admit that the views are not very good(it is next to the harbour) but the location is just fine to reach anything in such a little town. The worst is breakfast, too simple and poor for the price you have to pay, they shoul improve it!

The hotel was nice, clean and tidy. Our room had a good shower, a very comfy bed and breakfast was provided. The owner was a nice guy and the hotel had tea and coffee downstairs so you could just help yourself. The town itself was very quiet, only one restaurant was open when we arrived, but fortunately it was right across the street!

Most comfortable bed we slept on in our tour of ring road. WiFi works well. Breakfast is awesome— coffee, waffle maker, eggs, meats, and more. The view of the ocean out our window topped it off nicely. Overall, great stay!
