I've visited last night for 1 night and everything was amazing! The hostess accepted us with a smile on her face and helped us with everything we asked. We booked triple room, the room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was very tasty! Go visit!
The place was very good and most importantly, the host was amazing and nice! Definitely recommend!
The place is great. We came for one night and the hostess was very kind!
Simple, comfortable. Breakfast and dinner were included 👍 The location is fairly out of the way, but also nice in its seclusion.
Very pleasant stay. The owner is super nice. Had a wonderful time. Plus there is an ancient hot spring on a hill.
Nice hotel but the pool was closed. We had a great time in the hot pot with a bunch of travelers from around the world.

A soulful place, atmospheric, causes only positive feelings. A very comfortable warm house with a beautiful authentic view from the window. Delicious breakfast and dinner, and a welcoming attitude. Thanks a lot
In the middle of the west Icelandic coast, this guesthouse is located in a gracefully mountains and sheep camp. Super clean, super easy, guests are super kindly and professionals. Rooms are new, warm and with every comfort you need. If I could put more than 5 stars I will do it! Come here!
We had a brilliant stay here. Lovely owners, brilliant food, big comfy beds and we got to see the northern lights. We will definitely be back.
The little cottage we stayed in was so cute! Had its own bath and a wonderful view! Remote location, we were worried about trying to find a place to eat... Luckily the Dalahyttur Lodge has food and it was fire! Could not say enough good things about the dinner we ate here! My husband and I had the lamb and it was some of the best food I have had on the island! The people were super friendly and accommodating...
Our stay here was wonderful! Thew mountain side view was majestic. And we're sure that we would have seen the Northern Lights if it were fall or winter as it was so remote. We will need to come stay again. Also, the host was so helpful, and gave us a lot of tips of what we should do on Snæfellsnes Peninsula. Not only was she helpful, but she is a wonderful cook. Definitely book a room here!
The dinner the host cooked was amazing and she was incredibly friendly and helpful. You can tell she loves helping travelers and showing off the beautiful country. Our room was super cool and the view was spectacular. Not just Dalahyttur but everywhere in Iceland (mid-August) - they are in the midst of a heatwave and some of the more remote places, especially with beautiful scenery/fields, can be...

Really want to give this place good raiting because staff was absolutely great and food in the restaurant was wonderful. But rooms were not great, even if you don't expect much. Beds were on very high legs and very wobbly. No nightstands, single outlet only in a room. Bathroom didn't have any place at all to put your stuff. Overall it's ok if you are spending just one night, especially because next...
Restaurant and hotel are run by ownership, which directly tanslates to the love and care that goes with agency. Accomodations are exactly as expected (clean and functional), and the restaurant is run with care. Chef (along with the owner) makes excellent food with no corners cut, most emblematic in their serving of handmade ice cream that comes out of experimenting in the kitchen. Really excellent...
Hotel Ljósaland is ideal for an overnight stop. You check-in in the main restaurant building and the host will show you to the single storey log fronted building. Four of the bedrooms (3,4,5 and 6) are accessed through a main communal room where the self-service breakfast things are left. In the communal room there is a fridge for milk, fruit, juice, cheese and sliced meat. There isn't a lot of room...
Spent one night on the way to the West Fjords (from Keflavik airport). Would do it again. Beautiful and quite location. Rooms were basic but clean and beds were comfortable. Plan on the breakfast which is basic but not overpriced (essentially self-serve and the coffee was great in the AM). Dinner was fine. Recommend the soup of the day and the fresh fish. There is also a veggie burger option.
The rooms are so spacious, the restaurant is superb and orders an array of beers and vegetarian options. The scenic surrounding areas offer all sorts of attractions. And most importantly the staff is friendly, warm, and personable!!

Good location next to a supermarket, a bit weird it is close to a school. Small campsite, the number of facilities seemed appropriate. Two toilets, two showers, not fancy but nice enough.
Camping is not big so is better to come earlier. 2 showers with hot water and 2 toilets; common area has 4 small tables, can fit few people. If it is sunny those small facilities are not a problem. Cost 1500 per person/night and money collection is 8am/pm
Great campsite with friendly staff. Two big and clean showers with hot water. No WiFi. Small kitchen with only one stove. Great place to start driving to the western fjords.
Nice little camping ground with everything you need. Clean showers and toilets. A little community room with a heater and a small hob so you can cook. Also some utensils for cooking available. Very nice lady who works there as well. We stayed one night and will be back for our last night as well. The campground is right at the main road so its easily accessible.
Found the last spot for a motor home - very small site but has all the necessities. Laundry, electric hookups, water refill, showers. Owned by the city and managed by a really nice woman who has lived in the area a long time. Not much in town but a gas station. It’s 5 stars on its own - not fair to compare it to other sites as this one is just meant to be basic and clean - that’s all. Other sites...
Wasn't crowded in August. Quite good facilities, unfortunately one of the showers was flooded. Quite close to a busy road, what didn't really bother after a long day crossing the country.

Location with little light pollution to see the Northern Lights! Beautiful house!!
Well-renovated Icelandic house with a cozy atmosphere and meticulous attention to detail. The pleasant wall colors and ample natural light in the room create a welcoming ambiance. The window offers a lovely view, and the simple, light breakfast, personally served by the owner, adds a personal touch. The minimal light pollution makes it an excellent spot for catching the Northern Lights when conditions...
One of the best guesthouses I stayed in the past 10 days!! It started with a welcoming check in, continued with a comfortable room and the cleanest bathroom (you couldn't even tell I shared them with 5 guests) and ended with a rich breakfast. Berglind is the house owner, she had good recommendations and lots of knowledge and stories about the area. I booked 1 night and had such an amazing time so...
absolutely perfect! we loved our stay at saudafell guesthouse - the property is well-maintained, clean and has a very charming rétro-style: just what we were expecting and what you would want to find in northern iceland. our hosts were lovely and the breakfast in the communal kitchen was great!
Charming B&B on an historic farmstead. Wonderful host, very clean, comfortable accommodations, use of kitchen, sufficient breakfast provided. Although remote there is a town 15 minutes drive for food and gas. Our family of 8 stayed on the second floor and had a bathroom to ourselves; although it is possible you might share the bathroom if your group is smaller and there are other guests staying.
This guest house sits on a hill top with very nice view. The two story guest house offers five or six guest rooms with one bathroom on each floor. Although we had to share the bathroom with other guests, the bathroom was kept very dry and clean. The house decor is homey and comfy. The kitchen is equipped with cooking essentials and dinnerware. The breakfast was included. It’s simple but had everything...

Arthur and Caroline were extremely welcoming and excellent hosts. If the weather had cooperated it would have been and excellent place to see the stars and perhaps the northern lights too.
Very comfortable room. Clean fresh. Great staff
I was travelling with some old friends and we stayed for two nights and had dinner there once. The rooms are ok. My bed was like out of HC Andersen fables, one mattress on top of another. I was worried I might fall off the edge so I placed the chair at the edge. I slept like a log. The place is very quiet there and they have a good view towards the south, over the bay. There is no sitting room there...
Staff was so friendly and we loved walking to the waterfall behind the lodge!
High pricetag and far away from the main road High pricetag and far away, bed good and shower. Would not use this hotel again
An absolute gem! The lodge was clean, well-maintained, and appeared either fairly new or renovated. The countryside was beautiful and serene. The large deck boasted a view of the bay. My husband, sons (ages 17 and 12), and I enjoyed a beautiful hike up the mountain with waterfall and had a relaxing soak in the hot tub before bed. The room was spacious and clean and had a private bathroom. The...

After reading the references here, I would like to add my experience. The place is just fine. Self check-in works, breakfast is served. The WiFi works in the main building, there are cool chairs with beautiful view. The rooms were clean, the furniture is a bit older but who cares. We stayed here just for one night and it was a good choice on the way from Akureyri to West Fjords. So don't worry about...
The hotel is simple and basic - which is why it is inexpensive. The self check in makes sense to lower cost but could be better executed. We didn't receive an email with self check in instructions prior to our arrival (we booked only one day in advance) and the phone numbers provided we always busy. There was a email address at the front desk which responded within 15 minutes. Once we had the info...
It's good value for money. The rooms are fine and the breakfast is okay. The check in was a disappointment. I don't mind if there is no reception, but we needed help and didn't get any for two hours. We booked when we arrived (around 5PM), so we didn't had any information about our room number and code whatsoever beforehand. We decided to call the number on the desk for assistance. No answer. 2nd...

Comfortable bed - the most comfortable out of all our stays in Iceland. Small cozy room with very nice bathroom. We liked visiting the farm animals. Restaurant was great, farm to table.
Lovely hotel in a stunning location. Very family friendly with farm animals on the doorstep. Hot tub that's open 24hrs and an outdoor covered fireplace for those chilly evenings when you want to sit round a real fire. Not a luxury hotel but that's not what we were after.
We enjoyed our stay here. The room was small but comfy and cozy. The bath was large with a shower cubicle. It's on a farm and the sheep roam around. We enjoyed watching them especially the baby lambs. The farm also had cattle and birds. We also seen several adorable cats. The building is two floors but you don't need to deal with stairs because of the way the parking is arranged. The rooms on...
Difficult to find a single fault with our stay here in May 2022. Comfortable rooms and nice shower. Wonderful outdoor hot tub overlooking the beautiful scenery. Helpful staff and a tasty menu for both dinner and breakfast. A great rest and some long drives and hikes.
This place is a must stay!!! This has been our only stay 100% worth the price. The rooms are the biggest we have stayed in Iceland, you get a pretty bug bathroom as well. There is a fire pit, hot tubs, and animals. They staff is extremely friendly and nice. The food here was absolutely delicious as well, and the steaks are from the farm! I definitely recommend this place.
The restaurant is top-notch with a selection of great, locally-sourced, dishes. Hot tubs overlooking the nearby mountains are nice too.

Room was spacious. Breakfast and stass were good.
Best hotel in the area Comfortable bed Tranquil environment Delicious food
Good room, clean room and good facility. There are a lot parking.
Room is pretty big and breakfast are nice. Like the area. Have golf course near by.
I was very satisfied with everything. I only wanted to stay here for one night when I made the reservation. When I arrived, it exceeded my expectations. This is the hotel with the largest and best rooms during my 10 days in Iceland.
