Perfect stay. New restored. Modern and comfortable rooms. Sparkling clean. Restaurant with coffee and tea and amazing view. We are here in January 2026 and they open. Special thanks. Kind host. We can always recommend this hotel.
A hotel located in remote Hólmavík with a view of the water. At first sight, it seemed a bit like a dilapidated building past its prime. Parking is right in front of the hotel. However, this initial impression was made up for by the room (I received an upgrade with a harbor view) and the helpfulness of the staff.
I had booked a room with a double bed and breakfast because I was a little worried that...
Staff was very kind and helpful. Easy to walk to local places to eat for lunch and dinner.
Nice views from room and lobby. Breakfast included very nice. Happy hour in lobby BOGO. Enjoyed visiting with other guests. Room small. No shampoo. No mirror on a wall. Only small mirror on a shelf behind the toilet.
The hotel is cozy and suitable for low-budget travelers. The owner was very nice and she even offered bacon and scrambled eggs for breakfast. In general the breakfast was very yummy.
The coffee is great because there is a Delonghi machine 😀
The Finna Hotel was a lovely place. Highly reccommend getting the breakfast there, it was fantastic!

A warm, comfortable place to stay surrounded by stunning rugged beauty. The chocolate cake in particular was excellent. I wish I could have stayed much longer.
Full of character and history - a real gem.
This is my favorite hotel in Iceland and I have stayed there twice. I went with my sister-in-law and we stayed in the little red house by the stream. We were there 3 nights and had all our meals there. Please try the pan-fried cod. The place is really quiet and you wake up to the sound of running water from the little stream. I plan to come back.
Free coffee and excellent chocolate cake and friendly service in the middle of nowhere after an hour on a loose surface road: bliss. The scenery is breathtaking on the western fjords and somehow, the weather is on our side with frequent strong sunshine
Property was a little old but it was very cozy. I loved the different sections to chill around. For me the isolation of location was the best part. Breakfast was very good and people very amazing! This was my favourite stay during my vacation.
One of the best places I've ever been to in terms of coziness, hospitality, and tranquility. I felt at home the moment I opened the car door. The place tells a story of the owners and their family, and the village and it's herring factory. The surroundings are fantastic. I'll return one day.

Absolutely delicious meal and the service was excellent!!!
Passing through Okmavik early in the morning, we had a simple but very welcoming breakfast. It was so cozy that after our great whale watching tour we came back for lunch. Family cooking, super good and very cheap considering the Icelandic standard The owners are super friendly. I also recommend the hotel, everything is new and nice, too bad not to have discovered it before!
We stayed for one night only and we did enjoy it very much. Location is perfect because it is very close to main road and on the way if you are traveling to Ísafjörður. Place is very comfortable and cozy, has a great viewing balcony were you can sit and collect your thoughts about your plans ahead or just enjoy your breakfast with an ocean view. We met a wonderful stuff and they make your stay very...
Amazing homemade food by owner. Very authentic, traditional dishes that she grew up on. Highly recommend going here for lunch with a great view of the bay.
Delicious Icelandic meat soup, great and big sandwiches. Worth visiting for lunch!

This is a lovely place! We stayed here for one night and can only recommend it. The owner is a really nice Icelandic guy, who can tell you a lot about his country and give you helpful travel advice. The room was in a separate house with a common room in the middle and (if I recall correctly) 4 bedrooms around it. Our room was very lovely and totally new. It had a cosy atmosphere, a super comfortable...
I really enjoyed my stay at Ljosaland! I arrived later in the evening and got set up in my room. The room was one of 4 I think in a building with a common sitting area. The place is really beautifully designed and clean and crisp! The main lodge is warm and inviting with a cozy fireplace room just near the dining room. Natural wood details abound with clean white walls, wooden tables and leather...
Stayed at this hotel after two days in Westfjords. Room was comfortable. restaurant was excellent, we enjoyed dinner and a full breakfast the next morning. Hotel staff was courteous, friendly and helpful. Recommended.
For one - two nights it is good to stop there. Nice and welcomed young staff. Modest but good breakfast (in hotel price not included). The price is slightly expensive (as everything in Iceland) for what is offered. However, room was clean, shower and WC OK. In the room kettle + tea/coffee available. Wifi was fast and good working. For each of two rooms there is in front of the doors sitting area....
We stayed for three nights at ‘Gil’ with Nialls and Krippa. They were friendly and attentive and were able to provide us Nialls’ delicious beef burgers whenever we asked…each meal was 3,000 Krona, excellent value. Each double room set-up has an area set aside give you coffee, kettle & microwave, cutlery & crockery. There is also a hairdryer. Free parking outside your room
The host are so nice and friendly. They are really taKking care on their guests and can give you good advices where to go in Iceland. The rooms are really cozy and clean. And the good thing is you can also eat there. I can really recommend this accomendation.

Washrooms could use some updating due to staining and poor ventilation. Everything else was nice.
Great stay. Everything clean. Great kitchen and laundry. Great staff and parking. Thank you!
This place is new, clean. But it is better to provide free towel for customer
It was very easy to check in, I arrived really late and I loved the self check-in!
Ok, in every sense, value for money.
The only thing to complain about is the size of the common area, specifically the kitchen is very small for the capacity of the accommodation.
This was such a cute little hostel! The kitchen was very cosy and had everything that someone might need. There were lots of washrooms so never had to wait. The rooms were really cozy and everything was very clean. Will be coming back here on our next trip!

Stunning location. Saw the Aurora literally from our bedroom. Comfortable, warm, welcoming and peaceful.
Beautiful guesthose, very clean, amazing view, very friendly host - best guesthouse so far on my trip to iceland. Also a little nice city is close by
Wonderful stay – a fully equipped kitchen, cozy living room, and an amazing view of whales in the fjord.
What to say about this lovely place.
No negative comments come to mind, the owner greets you with a smile and after a long day travelling around Iceland nothing feels better than a cozy feeling of going to a place that feels like home.
Loved the decoration, the views to the sea, the rooms, the comfy beds and warmth in the rooms.
There is complementary bread and coffee or tea, I think some jam too although...
We had a terrific stay here! The guesthouse is modern and clean with plenty of space. Comfortable, well appointed community kitchen for food preparation. The host provides coffee, tea, toast, and jam. The beds were quite cozy and the room warm. My favorite feature was a big deck which our room opened onto via a sliding door. Just before midnight we got to see a whale in the harbor beyond our...
We booked last minute at 46 because the roads weren’t easy that day to keep driving and it’s located in a cute town where the seals dwell. The house was toasty to welcome us on a snowstorm night, thanks! If your preference is a colder temperature, this is easy to adjust by opening the window. There might be some knob but we didn’t need it so we didn’t ask about it. Rooms were small but very comfortable...
