Hotel Venus in Gabicce Mare

The two reviews that precede mine are a pathetic and clumsy attempt to make up for the criticisms I personally made to the lady at the reception, when I told her that I would write here too. I stayed in this hotel over the Easter weekend, where the entire structure was dedicated to a football team of kids and their parents and family. The room I was given was clean but it was impossible to take a shower without the bathroom flooding. Although there was no towel warmer, the towels were not changed and therefore remained completely wet. But the most shameful thing was the experience in the dining room where some members of the staff repeatedly responded rudely to the requests made (such as the alternative choice of a dish). The food, of poor quality, was poorly cooked. The vegetable buffet was practically non-existent and when asked to bring oil, they brought us a 5 liter can of seed oil. The red plastic containers (like those used in pizzerias) were topped up and were dirty and greasy. When we asked for fruit instead of dessert (it was expected) they dumped a crate of bruised apples directly into the room without even having been washed. I am against waste, they would have made a good impression using them for an apple pie to present in the morning... perhaps instead of the inedible breakfast biscuits, probably expired, given the consistency. And regarding breakfast... we could not expect polite treatment, much less a decent choice. Another sore point is hygiene: the milk from the coffee machines placed in plastic mugs without even a cover and practically in contact with the people who were serving it. Structure to avoid.

An unpleasant experience from all points of view: it is a pension (and many more dignified pensions are offended), passed off as a 4-star hotel, completely out of place, undeserved. The stay in the junior suite in the villa opposite, the money worse spent: packaged air - not received - an unbearable oven despite the report of the outage. The only solution is to open the windows and then suffer the annoying noises at all hours from the cars and motorbikes (🤬) parked right under the windows. Poor cleanliness in general, in two days the towels were not changed nor the bins emptied. Breakfast buffet poor in variety but above all in quantity: trays almost empty even at different hours of the morning and refilled, with embarrassing parsimony, only on request. The swimming pool then, unapproachable: the common areas scruffy and dirty, the water "opaque" and full of foliage at the bottom. I understand that the season is considered over in September, but such neglect, for the price of the Suite and additional services, is not acceptable (I'm ashamed to say how much I paid, I'm so sorry for the scam!). Usually I don't let myself be influenced by reviews but in this case I regret not having read all the negative ones first with which, unfortunately, I fully agree, and I too, like others before me, consider it serious that those in charge don't contact me promptly. and care, the correct correspondence of the stars to the actual quality standards. Too bad, not only for the money spent badly, but above all for the experience to forget! NEVER AGAIN (not even for work).

Hotel with great potential. At the beginning of the Gabicce hill, full sea view. Very nice room with a large window overlooking the sea, beautiful to look at even from bed. I wrote about great potential because the management by the owners is unfortunately not focused on the product. So the beautiful room loses value because it has a broken shower cubicle and every time you enter it the door falls off. Aluminum and glass door, also dangerous with children. We are talking about a four-star hotel and this must NOT happen also because the stay is not free at all. Unfortunately, there is a lot of dust under the beds in the room and on the entrance door. If something falls like what happened to us, it fills up. Very little would be enough. A 200 euro shower cubicle and greater attention to cleaning to have a five-star room. I must say the kitchen could be improved. The cuisine always depends on taste, but from a restaurant in the Marche region on the border with Romagna, I would expect local cuisine. Simple but good cuisine. I don't expect a carbonara with cream which, if removed, becomes inedible. Spaghetti with clams and chickpeas that make it into a unique ball. The recycling of products in the kitchen is more than evident and I consider it right, but let's not exaggerate. If you put a whole salmon fish on the buffet, which is inedible because it is impractical as it is whole, do not serve it for another three days in different forms. Come on. You pay for cooking. The menu is sparse especially for children who obviously don't eat the cuisine on offer because it is often difficult to taste even for adults, so they have to eat the usual plain pasta, pesto sauce or ragù. And no! Not to mention the second courses, chicken nuggets seen only once in a fortnight, the rest for children with no appeal. The vaunted animations during the booking phase are completely absent. Programs not respected and no particular events, something praised both on the site and during the booking phase. Just swimming in the pool and a few castles on the beach, then absent. All reported to the owner who understood the problems and will certainly improve the structure, but in the meantime the holiday went without purchased services. he tried to come to our aid at the end, but time was running out to change his opinion. Four star gym and spa service.....but where. Under the stairs there are four rusty tools and a Jacuzzi... we are not there. Positive note for the very beautiful, large and clean swimming pool. Great positive note for the director Giovanni, always available and present. An exquisite person to whom we have grown fond. Truly great. I wouldn't know how to start. Terrible stay from all points of view. Pension passed off as a 4 star hotel. Highly not recommended!!!!!! Starting from the incompetent staff at the low-grade company canteen kitchen. Terrible and badly cooked food. Ruined holiday!!!!

We spent a short holiday at the Venus, unfortunately compared to the past it is increasingly deteriorating... we always had a good time but after not going for a long time I found a rather poor structure and with all paid services (€17/day to leave the car in the hotel car park!!) just to say.. The room, junior suite in the villa opposite was very nice but with hair and mosquitoes crushed on the walls everywhere.. I won't post photos for decoration. The swimming pool is very beautiful but I found all the common areas to be unkempt and dirty, once upon a time they had dinners by the pool and more, today the additional services are non-existent and those few are very expensive, there is no entertainment! There is a boy who turns on the music and then leaves the children to themselves in the swimming pool... the afternoon snack for the little ones is a positive thing. The food and restaurant services are at the limit of acceptable, you can see that there is not the hand of an expert chef, here the focus is on savings... with the fruit from lunch proposed again the next morning as a fruit salad for breakfast. The manager of the facility does what he can with the staff they have given him available, the two Spanish girls at the service are very good... never mind the rest! Unfortunately, today many of these staff are difficult to find but with the cost of a night at the Venus this cannot be an excuse. I also wrote an email to the owner but strangely I have not received a return. I definitely won't return to Venus.
