This is a large resort hotel with a great idea in mind. The grounds are beautiful, it looks great, rooms are spacious, there are 2 pools, good restaurant and access to the beach But the shower pressure is really bad, the bathroom door opens into the bathroom taking half the space, lighting inside the rooms is ineffective, the bedding is so so, there are no mosquito nets on the large balcony doors...

The hotel should be highly ranked for its comfort, attentive personnel and the restaurant, of course. All our needs have been satisfied: individual time and transfer to the beach, the table registered for each dinner outside, shifting the time of the dinner to the latest slot because we were returning late when the kitchen was about to close, very quick service and always polite.

Lovely clean luxury hotel and spa. Visited mid August. Food was excellent, our party of 5 two had allergies two had dairy/ gluten intolerance restaurant lady manager saw to it that we had best dining experience every meal. Spa was excellent. All staff were very helpful sometimes going beyond what was expected. Beach is well served and well serviced and transport to the beach is frequent.

Very clean, all the hotel. Rooms are nice but small. Every room has a balcony and at least partial sea view. Golf in Italy, longstay with self-catering. Play on two courses. One course, Riva Dei Tessali, forest - parkland course. Good layout, could have better putting. The other course, Metaponto. The holes go between red pepper, pomegranate and citrus trees. Tough layout with almost perfect greens. Parkland course. Don't pick the cactus fruits with your bare fingers! Lots to see in the surrounding area.

Best beach in Puglia with the best sea (blue flag 2017)

Compared to Borgo Pineto, it is wilder and more luxurious but some services such as paved roads and lights are missing. They have recently had sewage problems

I spent 1 night in this beautiful placebo andare my experience was great! The double bed was in perfect condition (nice and clean), the bathroom has the shower and wc. Great lay over on my stay in Italy Hotel and golf course stay was great, very out of the way place but staff (Enzo) made it a great stay taking care of everything. It is within walking distance of the station and the old town and therefore some distance from modern area. Our corner room was spacious, well-furnished and had nice harbour views. Not mordern deco in room but very spacious lobby with gorgeous marble floor. Need to go upstairs from reception before use elevator to carry large luggage to room. Only one polite busy staff at buffet breakfast time. Glad to stay.

Just an average hotel, the room was small. But also the bed was small, almost fell from it. Also the shower is too small and I have to wait for a few minutes for the hot water to come. The only good thing is the location near the sea but the price should not be so expensive at this time. Not this kind of price for those conditions.

Spent 2 nights here as part of a southern Italy tour. Public areas of the hotel are smart and welcoming. The reception and breakfast staff were all lovely and helpful. Breakfast was good continental fare. My room was slightly disappointing. It felt a little unloved, with old fashioned furniture and some shabby fittings. My single, spring-frame bed and soft mattress felt like the one i used to have...

Given the bad reviews I wanted to check it out in person. I stayed 4 nights. Even though it is a three star, I slept very well. Fantastic sea view. Anna, the exceptionally kind receptionist, was very helpful and gave me lots of information. Very clean place even in the toilets. Excellent value for money, very good and very interesting given the tourist location of Taranto. I highly recommend it

We stayed in this interesting hotel for one night. We had arrived with sunset. A spectacular sunset over the sea, because the hotel is located on the sea. The very kind reception room and bathroom, beautiful and clean environments. Not every day, it was breakfast in the room overlooking the sea. Great!

We happened upon this hotel in Taranto by chance and already from the entrance we noticed the kind and welcoming staff. Once we entered the room, which was tidy and clean, we noticed an immense sea view and slept very well. Delicious breakfast and dinner, I will never forget the last dinner with spaghetti with mussels and exceptional fried fish. See you soon hotel Virgilio!

Very nice and comfortable appartement, very kind host, absolute very good service for money. The appartement is filly equipped, one can even prepare it's own food. Ideal location to visit the city centre Taranto and to continue a trip in Apulia.

We visited Taranto in over the Christmas holidays since it's very central to all the lovely villages in puglia. The room was amazing, very clean and very well equipped. We were a bit disappointed with Taranto as it's quite dirty and the parking all over the village is terrible at times it took us a good 30 mins to park. Very beautiful apartment on the sixth floor of a stylish building, a few streets away from the beautiful sea side boulevard. The apartment was very spacious and the location excellent. We had two big rooms to our disposal and a communal space to relax in. The spring mattress however was not comfortable at all.
