Ethra Reserve - Calanè 4* in Castellaneta Marina

The restaurant was disappointing — the quality of the pizzas and pastas was poor, which was surprising considering we were in Italy.
The dining area was also uncomfortably hot. Even the staff complained that the hotel management kept turning off the air conditioning, despite our requests to have it on. Combined with how crowded it was, meals quickly became unpleasant and we just wanted to leave.

We had paid for the all-inclusive package expecting drinks to be included, but only water and wine were provided. Any other drink, like soda, cost extra (3€ each). Even coffee wasn’t included and had to be purchased separately at the bar.

There was no Wi-Fi connection in our room.

We also assumed pool towels were included, since they have always been in every resort and hotel we went, but instead we had to pay 7€ plus a 10€ deposit for low-quality towels.

The gym was very small, with old equipment that was difficult to use — it really shouldn’t be advertised as a gym.

Overall, this did not feel like a 4-star hotel. The quality was far below what we expected for the price we paid.
