Ethra Reserve - Kalidria in Castellaneta Marina

far away from being a 5 star hotel. rooms: dirty carpets, small bathroom, only single beds. breakfast buffet very average, small selection. pool: no service (neither drinks nor wifi), you need to wear cap to swim (!!?!). indoor pool area costs 30euro for 1 hour (for some massage jets and old pool area). beach ok but nothing special, bar at beach serves only badly mixed drinks. dinner is good (food&wine), only reason its a 2 star rating. havent tried spa treatments yet but at least prices too high for what hotel showed so far. also better be able to speak italian, anything else is a struggle.

Terrible! It's rated as a 5 star, but their management of the hotel and customer service is extremely bad.

We had ants in our room crawling all over our personal items.

There are few choices for food, and all their fish was frozen. On top of waiting 30 mins to have our order taken and have to call the non-English speaking waiter several times.

You are forced to go to the spa with a bathrobe and cannot change in the spa! They sent us to our room to change!!

You have to bring a swim cap otherwise you have to buy one from them in order to go into the pool.

You have to keep track of a card that you exchange for a towel and then remember to give the towel back and get this particular card, else they don't give you towels anymore.

It was definitely the least relaxing stay I have had in a hotel.

Did I mention only the receptionist speaks English? There's charm in that, but not when customer service is terrible.

The worse hotel we’ve ever been.
None of the staff speaks English, so if you don’t speak Italian, you cannot communicate with most of the staff (only two speak English) We booked an all inclusive room but when entering the hotel the drinks and spa (reason why we booked this hotel) was suddenly not included.
Let me not start about the spa itself. It really is an outdated and dirty place. No luxe spa facilities at all.. just 2 sauna’s with outdated benches.
Don’t let the pictures on booking fool you.. they don’t look like the hotel reality at all. And then imagine to pay €300,- for a night.
The staff is also not kind and helpful for the most part. The hotel itself is very outdated, and got several leakages, for example in the gym and restaurant, the water is literally coming down from the ceiling. Good luck when visiting this hotel!
