Beautiful property with great service and charming rooms. If you are driving -beware ! Google maps takes you on dangerous unpaved roads with huge ruts and drop offs. We had a big car otherwise we could have gotten stuck. See Brian W’s tip regarding address to enter in google maps and confirm with staff before driving there.

Excellent staff!! My wife and I were there for a week. Very friendly, attentive and professional staff. Great facilities and dining! Very quiet, and calm. Definitely get a SUV car-the last km or so is unpaved roads-quite a drive but so worth it when you get to the property! Hope to be back.

It is so quiet up in the hills and amidst the forest, and felt like a distinct experience from other places we stayed further south in Tuscany. This property was lovely with fantastic views, wonderful staff and dining. Rooms were clean, spacious and quaint. Only difficulty during rainy season was unpaved road quite rough to navigate. Otherwise - will absolutely return to this beautiful property.

The property and staff were all amazing. The location is perfect if you want to be out away from the chaos of the cities and typical touristy areas. We especially loved the restaurant on the property. They have great options and we ate the majority of our meals there. The breakfast was especially nice. The staff was warm and helpful and alwasy treated us as a priority. Absolutely recommend.

Beautiful campsite in the woods. Suitable for families with small children. Four swimming pools to suit all tastes. Cottage treated fairly and with a discreet privacy. The staff were kind. International animation being the camp frequented mainly by households in the netherlands. Our stay was short but pleasant.

Best campsite ever been to, and also child-friendly, have even their own pizza (very tasty) and super nice and large swimming pool with the scoop was also veryyy nice and everyone found actually cottage was clean and offers (Srry had no meaning in points and comma)

Great camping, good location. The pool is great for kids and parents. View on the pool and the slide. Tents and caravans are well maintained and some are even new. The small camping shop is expensive, except for the bread. Prepared fresh every day.

The beautiful location and good variety on the menu. Friendly and professional the waiters are foreigners. Too bad for the waiting really long and the pizza is not very digestible.

We have stayed at a number of agriturismo or tiny hotels built in historic buildings. Among the Villa Sassolini is excellent. Stylish interior, cosy rooms, owners always present as active members of the staff. Excellent service although not too posh.

The suite, rooms, and views were incredible, but the most memorable part of our stay was the impeccable service from Gian Marco and his team. I highly recommend a visit to the sauna and pool, and spending time enjoying the views from the terrace. 11/10

We were driving from Venice to Rome and it was around Midnight so we decided to get a room. This was right off the highway so we booked it. The young man working at the desk was very kind and friendly and spoke English. He made sure we parked the car in a good location. The room was nice and clean.

The room was nice but small, but then again, most places in Italy are. The front desk was helpful. The room was clean and we had no problems. Breakfast was good and had choices like eggs, yogurt, juice, cereal and meat and cheese.

The staff were very friendly & helpful despite us both not speaking Italian! The apartment we had was spacious & very clean. Location great for driving to Chianti & train to Arezzo and Florence. Montevarchi itself had some great places to eat & nice friendly bars too, without being a busy tourist centre.

Arrived very late due to flight delay , communication and support from the hotel about late check in was fantastic and the owner even stayed until I arrived at 00.30. Recommended.

Stopped overnight during our vacation driving towards south of Italy. Convenient location outside of Florence but close to the highway. Clean and pleasant rooms. Good mattresses. Everything works. Prices are much better than in Florence for better quality. Would strongly recommend to anyone looking for an overnight pitstop.

The hotel is a bit ways from the city of Florence, 20+ miles but close to the highway. Relatives to the hotel prices in Florence this was much less expensive since we had a rental car. Very clean place, nice size rooms and pretty good choices for breakfast included. The staff was very cordial and helpful and they do speak English good enough to convey the message.

As this was the 2nd time staying at this hotel we knew what the standard was, I would recement the Hotel Michelangelo for a stopover as it is well sited to the motorway going North or South with friendly and helpful staff.

Such a classic Tuscany location. Beautiful old Watermill turned into a hotel so it is very rustic. Cell phone service on the area is not good but WiFi seemed fine. Pools were nice but not too big and not a lot of space to accommodate all guests. Enjoyed the breakfast. Staff were helpful.

Th countryside and place are beautiful. But we were disappointed with the bathroom - broken faucet - and not good water pressure - and the beds were not great. The room was well heated. The reception was a bit frosty. The breakfast was excellent.

The property is located in the center of Tuscany with an amazing view of the surrounding area. The Villa is very clean & comfortable, accommodating three families very well. Wine tasting is offered everyday, unfortunately the restaurant was closed due to Winter season.

Gorgeous hotel in an amazing location and we really enjoyed the wine tour and on site restaurant. The only negative was that the shower constantly flooded the bathroom which meant it was difficult to use and some of the furniture had marks on the fabric etc which does spoil the overall look of the room.

Just a lovely place to stay. A historic building in a beautiful village with good restaurants nearby. The staff are friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful time. We used the pools at the neighbouring properties near Gaiole, but also toured to Florence, Volterra, San Gimignano, Pistoia and the other Chianti villages. Can’t wait to return.

My husband and me stayed for one week. The hotel is placed in gorgeous calm location, the building is ancient with magnificent vibe, there is lots of nice rooms, terraces you can enjoy. One of the most beautiful places I've ever seen! Enchanted by every detail of the house, the landscape, the road. Reasonable price, including breakfast and restaurant, with access to public transport (Camp HU Girassole bus and bus 354B - Lucolena). It is a beautiful, almost divine environment, the forest around is home to many wild animals. The rooms are welcoming and clean, the garden is magnificent and there is a swimming pool which is also suitable for children. Beautiful views, with lovely and thoughtful hosts. It is definitely back in the woods, so you should plan accordingly - it's about 10 minutes off the road, and not terribly close to anything. It's a wonderful place to go and stay for a bit - there's a pool and lots of outdoor seating that overlooks the mountains. The hostess will make dinner for a reasonable charge.

Although the area was somewhat difficult to find, the property was absolutely stunning. We received a home cooked course-by-course meal that was fantastic the evening of our stay. Bathrooms and bedrooms were equipped with everything we needed. WiFi was hit or miss but other members of my party didn't seem to have this issue. Great stay!
