What a wonderful experience in my stay at Krokawa-So! I particularly enjoy the public onzen which has a beautiful scenic view, and the two private onzens in my room ( both an in-door and an out-door). The dinner and breakfast were also very good in terms of quality and local varieties! I shall return again!

The room is nestled by the mountains and water, offering direct access to the outdoor wilderness right outside the door – a truly exceptional experience. If you're lucky, you might even get to enjoy an outdoor hot spring bath during a heavy snowfall.

This is a large ryokan located around Kurokawa Onsen, with a main building and an annex. This time, we booked a room in the annex, which was very spacious and even had a loft. There were two private onsen baths right in the room, and another one just outside the room. The experience was absolutely incredible.

The service was excellent, and the rooms are spacious. Each room features its own private 'Qieshi' hot spring bath. They provide a shuttle service to and from the Kyushu Odan Bus Station. Upon check-in, you can book a time slot for the private onsen. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious, with dinner even being served directly in our room, which added a very special touch.

I stayed on Dec 17, 2020. The atmosphere of the hotel is nostalgic, the food is delicious, the hot springs are the best, the staff is kind and I was able to spend my time in comfort. As with all Kurokawa onsen, I find it better to hang out with a lot of people than a waiwai.

For my room type you can see photos here on Trip for what are actually two types of room, one being newer and on the 2nd floor. Front desk aimed to please as they initially assigned me a fourth floor room but some minutes gave me a brighter 2nd floor room with its own A/C. Breakfast was just from 8 to 9 when I was there. The WiFi was not great, apparently dropping out from time to time.

Just needed a simple overnight stay to visit the Attack on titan museums and locations. Hotel was to everything. Supermarket, station, bus terminal, rental car shop was all in close walking distance. Accidentally booked the smoking room so there was a smell. I'd imagine the non smoking rooms to be much more comfortable on the nose.

It was very helpful to be able to park my large motorcycle in a place where it wouldn't get wet in the rain. The staff were kind and I would like to use this facility again.

At first, I booked a non-smoking room, but when I went in, there was a strong smell of cigarettes. I went down to the counter and told them that I had booked a smoking room, so they gave me a smoking room. They changed my room right away because I said I wanted a non-smoking room. The owner was very welcoming, the room was very clean, and the view from the window was great—you could even see the JR train passing by. It was clean and I was able to spend a comfortable time there. The food at the restaurant next door, Akikoso, was also excellent, and especially since it was New Year's Eve, they even served us toshikoshi soba noodles, which we enjoyed. Both dinner and breakfast were incredibly rich and satisfying. The Kagoshima beef practically melted in my mouth – so fragrant and delicious! The onsen (hot springs) are private, family-style rooms, and the reception area has heating and complimentary drinks, perfect for a relaxing break after a soak.
