All the staff members were very friendly. The building is old but clean. It's convenient for sightseeing spots like Gifu Park and Minatomachi. There was a group of foreigners on the same day, and they seemed to be having trouble because the English signs were too small. The hotel should really be better prepared for international guests. It was a shame that there was no water dispenser in the changing room when I wanted to rehydrate after my bath; I had to get dressed and go out to find one.

This is a classic resort hotel. The facilities are a bit dated but well-maintained, and the in-room dining was excellent. However, when the previous guest checked in, they were enthusiastically shown a selection of yukata and given size recommendations. For me, they just pointed to the spot and told me to get one myself. It's not a big deal, but I couldn't help but feel a bit singled out...

A family of four paid over 2800 RMB. This room was extremely poor value for money. It was quite small, and the bathroom and toilet were separate, each less than 1 square meter. It was hard to even turn around in them. You'd be better off staying at a 1000 RMB hotel in the city center. We were assigned a room on the second floor with no view, overlooking a small park and a construction site. We couldn't see any mountains or rivers.

The hygiene was acceptable. The hot spring pool was on the 6th floor, separated by a glass railing, and the view was just so-so.

Dinner was a set menu. We had sukiyaki with a few slices of beef and mushrooms, and a very salty grilled fish that still had its internal organs, making it both salty and bitter. The portion size was sufficient, but the taste was very mediocre. We also ordered four small bottled Cokes for 420 RMB each.

I was a bit guarded when I approached the hotel, and it looks old from the outside with old carpet on the corridor but I was totally wrong when I saw my room. The room was recently renovated and I can even smell the new carpet. The room was really big and with modern design. Beds are new and very comfortable. Staff are very friendly and the concierge was super helpful. The onsen needles to say was great with excellent views. Even though the hotel was fully booked o never felt being neglected. The breakfast was good even though it is not my taste. This hotel pushed up my expectations for a Japanese hotel which is hard to compete with.

The reception staff are very friendly and helpful, and it is very generous that the hotel opens the onsens for use at 1 pm which is 2 hours before check-in time. The room is nice and clean, and you can see the river on one side and the mountain with the Gifu Castle on the top on the other side, same with the outdoor onsen. The set dinner is very good value for money, and the Hida beef is really nice. The hotel is just next to the Gifu Park, inside it there are many other attraction spots and you can also take the cable car to reach the top of the mountain where the Gifu castle is located. The famous traditional fishing show with cormorant birds can be viewed at the river bank right outside the hotel.

This onsen hotel is right by Nagaragawa Bridge. From Gifu Station, you can take a bus to Nagaragawa and it's less than a 500-meter walk.

The hotel breakfast was excellent with a great variety, and the service was top-notch.

I booked a tatami room, but there was a very strong scent of rush grass. If you're not a fan of that smell, you might want to consider other options.

Friendly staff, clean spacious rooms. The building is a bit outdated but that didn't bother me at all.
Amazing breakfast with an enormous variety of tasty options.
Gorgeous public bath on the top floor.
