Hotel Nagata in Izumo

It's reasonably priced and only takes less than 10 minutes from the station. There are convenience stores, restaurants, and drugstores along the way, making it a very convenient hotel. They also provide a variety of services. The rooms are clean and the unit bath is quite spacious, and it is possible to fill it with hot water. There are steps in the hallways from the second floor onwards, so please be sure to check if you are in a wheelchair.

We stayed here with our family during our trip to Izumo. When we first saw the exterior of the building, we were a little worried about its age, but the interior was clean and comfortable. The room was a Japanese-style room and very large (with two toilets, so it was probably a large room), so we were able to relax comfortably. It was also conveniently located near Izumo Station, with plenty of restaurants, convenience stores, and drugstores nearby.

I stayed at this hotel for three nights on a business trip.

There are many business hotel chains found across the country in front of Izumo Station, but this is a locally owned hotel.

Since I'm on a local business trip, I'd like to stay at a place like this.

It's just under 10 minutes from the station and directly across from the hospital. It was conveniently close to both the downtown area and city hall (about 5 minutes from each).

The rooms are spacious, beautiful, and clean (compared to other business hotels I know). The warm lighting makes it relaxing. The futons are fluffy.

There is a unit bath in the room, but I recommend the public bath on the 4th floor. I was able to stretch my legs, soak up my shoulders, and really relieve my fatigue.

The attached restaurant has a wide variety of menu items. The rice is delicious.

Local staff work here and are very kind and friendly.

I recommend the breakfast (790 yen). There is a wide selection, and you can choose between Japanese and Western cuisine.
It was really nice to hear them send me off with a loud "Have a nice day!!" as I left.

The downtown area is about a five-minute walk away.

So, I had a very pleasant stay, but if I had to point out a few things that bothered me...

(1) The breakfast side dishes were cold (I personally found this to be acceptable, but some people might find it annoying).
(2) The toilet paper was hard.
(3) I didn't know how to use the room entry/exit card (i.e., insert and remove immediately). ←It was written on the card, but the print was too small to read.

That's about it.

Also, while the number of plans available seems to be limited, booking through their website offered the best deal. I would definitely use their service again.

I started to feel uneasy walking towards the hotel from the station because it was taking so long to come into view.
When I finally got in front of the city hospital and saw the hotel, it was small, old, and shabby...
The paint and color had changed in some places, so I wondered if I should have booked somewhere else. That was my first impression.
It turns out I had reserved a Japanese-style room, and when I was shown the room, it was as new and clean as a new building.
What's more, it had a normal house bath and a normal house toilet, and was quite spacious! It was a Japanese-style room that could probably sleep about four people.
The men's large bath on the fourth floor was also new, clean, and comfortable and empty.
The interior of the facility has been beautifully renovated, so it's a shame that the exterior walls are not in good condition. I think people visiting the city hospital probably don't judge a hotel by its appearance alone.

Although I only stayed overnight, it was a great hotel and I recommend it. I'll stay again!

The food at this hotel was excellent. My plan didn't include dinner, but I stopped by the restaurant next to the front desk. The ingredients were fresh, apparently from the local area, and everything was delicious. The staff were friendly, and I drank way too much. I was more satisfied than with the dinner plan, being able to choose from a wide variety of menu items. It was a bit disappointing that the large public bath was only for men, perhaps because the hotel is frequented by business travelers, but this hotel may be a hidden gem. (241023-24)
