Prince Hotel Shimonoseki in Shimonoseki

The Prince Hotel in Shimonoseki is right by the station, less than 5 minutes walk. To get there without steps was a slightly longer route but does exist. The area it is in is largely derelict businesses or sex work establishments so if that bothers you I would book elsewhere.

The rooms itself was surprisingly spacious with good functionality and facilities. The bed was comfortable and while there were some of the more hard to reach areas that were not addressed the room was clean enough. The shower has no holder above roughly 4 ft so unless you sit you will need to shower with one hand holding it if you want to wash areas above that.

The building generally feels dated but not in a way that impacts your stay. My room technically had windows but they opened onto a concrete building next door so there was no view or natural light, just fresh air if needed.

The staff were friendly and helpful and if coming back to Shimonoseki I would return here as the price was pretty much exactly what I would expect to pay for the level of quality and location.

It's conveniently located near the station. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. I hope they can improve the breakfast, which is only toast.

Free parking is available. There is a multi-storey car park just behind the hotel.

I thought it was a shabby little hotel, but I didn't expect it to be clean, sanitary and cheap.

I spent two days here. Nearby is the Chunfan Tower where the Treaty of Shimonoseki was signed.

It was an old-fashioned business hotel, but the location was good. I would have appreciated it if the free breakfast had more items.

The hotel is located close to JR Shimonoseki Station. There is free parking at the hotel. You can drive directly to the parking lot and ask the staff for a parking card when you check in. Because of the surrounding shops, the hotel's location is more suitable for business travelers and is not recommended for family purposes.
