Hotel R9 the Yard Utsunomiya Chuo in Utsunomiya

Absolutely fantastic! We were driving to a ski resort and stayed here as a mid-day rest. Considering the proximity to the city center, the place has spacious parking lots. The rooms were warm and conveniently equipped with a microwave, fridge/freezer, and a massage chair. Complimentary snacks (340g of pasta per person) were delicious.

There are plenty of parking spaces, and they're paved, so you don't have to worry about them getting wet on rainy days. I've stayed at various 9 Yards hotels, but this is the first time I've stayed at one without a washing machine in the room. The room is spacious as a result, but you have to use the coin laundry outside the room, which is a bit inconvenient.

The location is convenient, the soundproofing is good, and parking is easy and convenient. I will definitely consider staying here again if I visit Utsunomiya in the future.

It was clean and I slept well.

An original hotel, the rooms are converted from shipping containers into guest rooms, and have all the amenities of a standard room. Perfect for a quick stay.

The staff is also very pleasant, despite our limited Japanese; they did everything they could to ensure we understood each other and made our stay as pleasant as possible.

However, two minor issues arose during our stay:

- The container is poorly insulated, meaning the air conditioning has to be on all the time to keep the temperature comfortable.

- The site is located next to an outdoor subway line, and unfortunately, we could hear it quite loudly in the rooms.

These two issues we encountered may not be real. In fact, if you leave the heating on, there's no comfort issue, and if you sleep between midnight and 6 a.m., the train won't bother you either.

I am still satisfied with this hotel, which met my expectations.

It’s new and the price is low. Area are kept tidy and clean. Staff are nice. Coin washing machine is a bit high as well as not much food to select for breakfast.
