Hotels in Naoshima

If you visit Naoshima island and are looking for self catering accommodation this is the place to be. Very quiet neighbourhood with THE BEST SUNRISE ever. Lovely owners, so friendly and welcoming. You are next to the bus stop for ease of access to Miyanoura port and Tsutsuji for the Benesse art house and galleries

This is, as described, a budget friendly apartment. No frills but clean and is self contained, even a washing machine. The couple running the place live opposite and are lovely despite very little English. They even arranged free transport into the port on our way out. The buses are a no go with suitcases and trying to book a taxi in English isn’t possible. For travelling around it’s e-bikes...

It is right after the bus stop, in the middle of the village and the art gallery area. It is very convenient. You can walk to the harbor in a few steps. The village is very quiet. You can walk around after dinner. It is not far from Pumpkin. If you arrive early, you can store your luggage. You can also store your luggage after you check out. The room is well divided, with sliding doors separating the...

This B&B is located in a residential area in the "Chiura" area of Naoshima. There is a bus stop right at the door (Mikado stop). The room is very spacious and comfortable, and you can cook. There are two restaurants near the B&B, one for "Okonomiyaki" and the other for "Ramen". The landlord is very talkative and speaks good English. He also introduced me to a beautiful cafe nearby - Naoshima Coffee...

Lovely owner. Caring. Really enjoyed our room - 70s decor, comfy, roomy, clean, excellent kitchen facilities.

Very comfortable rental unit. Maybe 100 steps from one of the island bus stops. The host saw us walking up and let us in, then checked back a moment after we had gotten our bearings to see if we needed anything.

Cute guesthouse, simple but good price quality ratio. You can use the kitchen plates and fridge if you want to bring food (at some nights there are not many restaurants open in the village). The lady was nice and showed us our room but that was it, we only saw her once or twice to feed the cats. The cats are in another building, so no cats or animals in the guesthouse. Rooms were clean.

Nice and quite guest house with lot of cats. You can tastee the daily life of a Japanese family. Very good location to explore Naoshima and Teshima. Easy access by walk, bycicles, bus and ferry to the main museums and highlights. The owner doesn't speak English but it's not an issue if you know the basics of Japanese way of life and good behavior inside the house.

It's a basic guesthouse but very sweet and in a good location. The lady who runs it is very nice, and made us a good breakfast. Recommended if you're after somewhere not too pricey and authentic.

It’s a basic bnb that has a cat cafe attached. Think grandmas cute cat centric place. The lovely lady that runs it doesn’t speak English but the place was clean. (We got clean towels for both nights we stayed). The location is great and the place was quiet and quite nice. Breakfast was basic but nice and the cats in the cafe were not an issue as they were not in the accommodation area. Only thing to...

Simpel Japanese homestay. We arrived in the morning on the island, but the check in was at 5pm. Luckily we could store our bags and go to explore the island. They don't speak English, only some real basics.

Our stay at Bamboo Village was truly special. Johnny, the owner, warmly welcomed us, went above and beyond to make sure we felt at home, and generously helped us find accommodation elsewhere on Naoshima. The rooms were cozy, the atmosphere peaceful, and Johnny’s hospitality made our stay unforgettable. Highly recommend!

We stayed in the en suite room . It was clean and comfortable. As others have described definitely a hostel but very well maintained and nicely furnished. The host could not have been nicer or kinder and was extremely helpful. Explaining a lot, helped us book restaurants. We felt close to the art houses and the hill was good exercise for my heart. End of October and it was quiet. Highly recommended...

There is a lot to like about Bamboo Village guest house - including the excellent personalised customer service. Great location if you don't mind walking a hill. Lovely outlook. I had a room with ensuite. Decide if privacy & possible noise are an issue before booking. It is essentially a share house. Unfortunately there was a noisy (but nice) group of people staying. All guest rooms adjoin the common...

Nice place on a hill, just a 10-12 min walk from the passenger boat pier on the Honmura side of Naoshima. Friendly manager "Johnny." Interior is nicer than the pix suggest. Really enjoyed meeting fellow guests by serendipity on the Uno port side (20 min across the water). Tip: If arriving after 6 pm, consider bringing snacks such as yogurt, nuts, etc. as the 7-11 is on the other side of the small island...
