Glemping "ak-Sai Travel" Yurt Camp At Son Kul Lake in Naryn

Recently, my friends and I spent a night at the Ak-Sai Travel yurt camp on Lake Son-Kul (Son-Kul / Song-Kul), Naryn Region, Tian Shan, Kyrgyzstan it was magical. The yurts are cozy, clean, and warm: on a chilly night we were perfectly fine thanks to the stove and good blankets. Dinner and breakfast featured delicious, homemade Kyrgyz cuisine hearty and made with care. The staff were super friendly: they helped arrange horseback riding and told us about local traditions. The views of the lake and mountains are unreal, especially at sunset. A great bonus: clean toilets and showers with hot water a rarity for such high-altitude places. It’s ideal accommodation on Son-Kul for anyone who wants to feel real Kyrgyz nature without extra hassle. Highly recommended, 5★.
Perfect yurt camp at Song-Kul Lake, Kyrgyzstan: clean warm yurts, friendly staff, hot showers, horse riding — highly recommended (Sept 2025).

The yurts are so well managed. They have more than 20 yurts and a well organised dining and bathroom space. We stayed one night and not once were the bathrooms dirty. They were instantly cleaned. All facilities needed for a comfortable stay are provided - warm blankets cozy yurt decor yummy food hot water welcome Wine drink, fire inside te yurt to stay warm and clean toilets. Even WiFi for specific time frame. At 3300 Mts that’s more than you can expect. Will definitely recommend.

Stayed here in 2023 with a group of family and friends. The location is on a prime piece of land at Song Kul Lake. The travel company Ak-Sai has created great infrastructure for their client tours, with a large kitchen and services shed, and several yurts setup in a semi-circle nearby. The yurts are comfortable with proper beds and wood stove heaters, which are necessary in the cold evenings at this altitude (10–11k ft). There is limited space in the yurt, especially if you have 3 beds/mattresses, but still it’s not too cramped. The bathroom area is located in a separate mobile toilet block about 40-50 meters away from the yurts and can be a bit of a pain for people that may need to use the facilities in the night. The shower block is also adjoining and has limited space to hang clothes. Overall both are relatively clean and okay to use. Food was comforting and adequate. The breakfasts are typical all across Kyrgyzstan, so nothing different here. The company set up some horse games like Kok Boru and Horseback Wrestling for us during our stay, which was great. Overall it’s a decent camp for a few nights.

Surprisingly comfortable and well-equipped yurt encampment. There is a shower and toilet (western style) "block" about 50 meters from the nearest yurt, Two yurts are used for dining rooms capable of seating about 30 people in each - so communal eating. Our yurt was comfortably equipped with twin beds, carpets and a stove (it does get cold at the altitude of the camp).
All meals were substantial and tasty - bearing in mind the remoteness and facilities. About 500 meters to the lakeside. The other direction there are low (but still over 3500 m) mountain peaks to safely explore. Be aware that distances are difficult to judge in the clear air and without visual references (buildings, people, etc).

A must visit place, similar to PangonTso Lake

We lived one of our most unforgettable experiences here. The view from the camp on the lake is majestic, and just the sheer experience of sleeping in a jurt -be it probably a deluxe version - is already worth the trip. The personnel is extremely friendly and helpful. Food is standard, but delicious after a day of trekking or horse-riding, which they can help organize.

Fantastic! Definitely 5* yurt camp with great staff, good food, electricity, clean toilets and - even hot water in showers. Highly recommended.
