Very disappointing experience at Sunny Hostel in Osh.
When we arrived, there was nobody at the reception, which was already a bad first impression. After waiting, we had to ask a man in the kitchen for help, and only then did we find out that he was the receptionist. This felt quite unorganized and unprofessional.
When we tried to pay for our stay, we were informed that the hostel does not accept Visa or Mastercard and only accepts cash. Unfortunately, we did not have Kyrgyz cash with us at that moment. This important information was not clearly mentioned in advance, which caused unnecessary stress after a long journey.
What made the situation worse was the lack of support from the staff. The receptionist was not helpful and spoke only Russian, which made communication very difficult for us as international travelers. He did not try to find a solution or explain things properly.
Overall, the service was poor, and the experience was frustrating. I would not recommend this hostel to travelers who do not speak Russian or who rely on card payments.

International travellers/backpackers - AVOID this place. Its not an international hostel but a place for locals. To start, in the female dorm they are talking on the phone and playing videos out loud late into the night. A rude old woman tried to tell me I couldn't leave my small bag on the floor in front of my own bed. The same woman opened my curtain two times whilst I was sleeping to shout at me - every time I moved in the bunk bed the bed knocked against the wall - I cannot help this poor design. Gone 12am people are up talking loudly in the reception area in front of the room and playing videos out loud and music. Left as early as possible so wasn't able to inform reception/manager of this old woman who acts like she owns the place. I think they should just not accept international travellers because of their patrons attitude and behaviour.

Very poor experience with the receptionist - extremely unfriendly and rude. He also didn’t allow us to leave our bags at the hostel during a hiking trip.
The manager is a very lovely and responsive person but he may not be working there during your visit. I was only able to communicate with him through WhatsApp.

Sunny Hostal provided an exceptional experience from the moment I stepped through the door. The warm and welcoming atmosphere instantly made me feel at home. The attention to detail throughout the hostel, from the tastefully decorated common areas to the impeccably clean rooms, showcased the dedication of the staff to providing a comfortable and enjoyable stay for their guests.
The staff members at Sunny Hostal went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of my stay was perfect. Their friendly demeanor and willingness to assist with any request or inquiry created a truly personalized experience. Whether it was recommending local attractions, arranging transportation, or simply engaging in friendly conversation, the staff made me feel like a valued guest throughout my time at the hostel.
The facilities at Sunny Hostal were equally impressive. The communal spaces were thoughtfully designed, providing the perfect balance of social interaction and relaxation. Whether I wanted to unwind with a book in the cozy lounge area or mingle with fellow travelers in the vibrant courtyard, there was always a comfortable space to suit my mood.

I rarely write bad comments but I do feel like this time, the story needs to be told. The staff first seemed very nice but then entering the room, you just can't believe the lack of professionalism the place is having. Mattresses are really old, full of holes and yellow stains, the walls full of bugs blood, no curtains in the dorm. The kitchen is really not clean and if you leave anything on the table even if your name was written on, it's going to be used by the staff. I am okay with the dorm system, being my main travelling mode but accepting a very loud mother and her 6 month old son in a bed and not helping me when I ask her to finish her call at 11pm30, stop her son from giving kicks to the wall and using her phone light until 1pm30 really didn't make the experience better.
No commercial gesture whatsoever and a really hard time communicating with the staff that will tell you "why are you so arrogant, you pay only 6 dollars, that is what you have to expect from a dorm, you could have left in the middle of the night if you were not satisfied" is not okay.
I hope you guys reading have the best experience in this great city, just not in this hostel, there are so many better places around, look for them you'll be satisfied this time ☀️
