Sala Boutique Hotel in Male

Beautiful rooms, excellent service. Great breakfast and wonderful Thai restaurant. It’s a little off the main streets, which makes it a little challenging to find at first, but also quieter. Window but no view as it’s a low building in a sea of tall ones.

Fantastic oasis in Male city! Boutique style rooms with comfortable four poster bed, with high quality linens and towels. Attached restaurant is definitely the best Thai in Maldives with a large repeater business due to the quality! Breakfast is to die for…with a bread basket of toasts as well as patisserie style donuts, danish, cake and muffins. This is served with fresh juice, fruits bowl, German cheeses and meats. The hosts deliver marvellous service every single day! If ur staying in Male dont miss this very special boutique hotel and Thai restaurant!

Nice stay prior to our morning flight. Airport transfer was via taxi and was included in the rate. The room was clean and well appointed. Breakfast was fabulous, better than the fancy resort we had just come from. Thomas, the owner of the hotel, was personable and friendly and we enjoyed our conversations. Would definitely stay again.

Wonderful cozy hotel with convenient location. Very clean, comfortable bed, capsule coffee machine with capsules in the room. Very good breakfast and decent restaurant of Thai cuisine. Thank you very much for the warm welcome.

We stayed at here for 2 nights before getting on a diving Liveaboard. Rose was outstanding helping me with my need for gluten free meals! The room was a respite from the hot weather. Beautiful and spacious rooms. If you have to stay in Male this is the place.

We loved our stopover stay at Sala. Great communication ahead of the stay; met at the airport and taxi provided to take us straight to the hotel. Super-friendly welcome, comfortable air-con room. In spite of an early departure from the hotel, we were given an excellent breakfast (coffee, juice, fresh fruit, eggs, bread, cheese, meats, yogurt, ….) before another taxi arranged to the airport (also included in the rate). We also had drinks and dinner in the excellent Thai restaurant- delicious! A great place to consider if you have to stopover in Male and want to avoid the big hotel chains.

I can't in good conscience give this place 5 stars nor 3 stars (which I would give if it was Colombo rather than Male). The rooms are very basic and walls very thin; more guest house than hotel. But you have no other choice however; I would probably try Jen if I stay in Male again. But, definitely try the whole Rainbow Runner fish in the Thai restaurant -- it was the highlight of the food I had in Maldives.

Got here late and they waited for me and took care of me like a princess!
I felt calm as soon as I arrived because of the atmosphere and their calm and cheerful welcome.
The rooms are nice and the bed is very comfortable
The owner Rose is very professional and nice.
She sees what I want and need without me having to say anything !
The breakfast was amazing,  the best ever in a quiet environment with nice decor.
I never ate at their restaurant but I can guess that it is also amazing

My second visit here was as successful as the first! This time I also got to meet Thomas, who is a very nice man.
Their breakfast is amazing with many kinds of bread that all taste fantastic! It is calm and harmonious and beautiful interior design.

Friendly small hotel which is perfect for a transit stop. Rooms are very clean and it’s quiet. It’s 15-20 minutes from the airport.

They only have six rooms so book in advance. The rooms are centered around a very good Thai restaurant open non stop from 12–12.

Thomas and Rose are superb hosts and respond quickly to messages. We had a seamless complimentary transfer from/to the airport.

We spent a week in Malé and enjoyed every night at this fantastic little hotel with a warm and welcoming staff. The bonus is their amazing and well-known Thai restaurant where we even dined with the Maldives' President one night! Located on a little street 500m from the airport ferry, you'll find a little grocery store and a mosque on the same street. Rooms are clean and spacious and feature a wonderful breakfast each morning. Our hosts made sure that we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay including having us picked up and dropped off at the airport.
