Seaside Hotel & Spa Swakopmund in Swakopmund

Worst spa experience ever with unprofessional staff and run-down facilities.

We spoke with them a couple of weeks in advance of our booking. They told us that they were fully booked at the hotel and the sauna was not working, but they were happy to take our booking at the spa for our massages.

We arrived to find out that the whole place is under serious construction. Not a problem. The hotel isn't really "fully booked" ... but at least the spa is up and running and we should have a beautiful massage experience by the sea.

The staff at the spa could not have been much less enthusiastic about our arrival, and they continued to chat and laugh loudly, over the soothing sound of the spa music, whilst we wanted for our masseuses.

We decided to wait outside so that we could instead listen to the sounds of the waves.

When our first masseuse arrived and took us through to our room, there were builders banging on the wall of our massage room ... literally.

When we asked the masseuse to please ask the workers to stop banging on the wall, thinking that the workers had obviously forgotten that there was a spa appointment booked in, the masseuse informed us that there was no plan for the workers to stop for our treatment ... they would be banging away for the full hour ... whilst we were meant to try to relax and enjoy our massages.

Needless to say, we left immediately. Much to the surprise of the staff!!

We could very easily have booked our treatments at another place, during our time here in Seakopmund.

Now the chance is gone.

So inconsiderate. So unprofessional. So unbelievable.

The whole place has the vibe of a government owned establishment ... This place could be quite magical. Quite easily one of the best places along the coast of Namibia.

But, unfortunately, I fear that it has terrible management with staff that couldn't care less.

I gave a full body hot stone massage voucher to someone who needed a relaxation treat. Unfortunately that was a big disappointment. Massage not good, jaccusi smelled like algae and sauna was out of order. Would not recommend that to anyone.

This place is actually bad, imagine getting a cocktail in a wine glass and telling me your cocktail glasses are broken, customer service is terrible, they can't even serve our drinks properly, their walking all wobbly with the tray so me who's an experienced waiter had to take over and take the tray with our drinks and serve my family, and yeah our cocktails didn't even look good and didn't taste good, the staff doesn't come and ask are you guys alright or do you guys probably need something. I will never come here again.
I wish I could post this with zero stars because honestly the only thing that's keeping this place going is the view of the sea.

The massage ladies did a fantastic job. They are really educated on how to massage the human body. We did the anniversary couple package for our honeymoon trip. Customer service could improve to personalise the experience for their clients. The massage rooms are very public, no privacy. The rooms are all connected with the sliding glass doors and windows so conversations can be heard across rooms. We had the full body massage - great. Then we had facials and foot treatment in the same room while laying on the massage beds. We expected more. Would have been nice to have the foot treatment in a chair sitting up with champagne and having a conversation with your spouse. There was a wedding booked the same slot we were there and we could not make use of the jacuzzi because the wedding guests were infront of it. More privacy in the spa area of the venue is highly recommended.

I Namibia for business, decided to treat friends to a spa day, booked treatments for the girls. Let me start by saying a huge thanks to Teresa the spa therapist, she is simply the only light for this establishment, friendly, engaging totally wasted at this hotel. A 5 star establishment would be lucky to have her for sure. The hotel reception staff unorganized and not welcoming at all. We ordered drinks from the bar upstairs after our treatments and waited so long we gave up . Just so disappointed in our experience asked to see the Manager Tesa Scot but was told she is not in , hotel owners apparently in Windhoek , no one at reception could tell me their names.
