Imperial Guest House in Kathmandu

I had very good expereicne staying at imperial Guest House, the customer service were beyond my expectation, each and everyone has a positive energy and happy people. you feel it! Rooms are average but in affordable rate at central part of Kathmandu, with so much security. In addition, the house located in very peaceful/silent street. you don't feel it that you're are in city. I Believe it's a great place to live while you're in Kathmandu. have fun!

We stayed here with friends while we planned to see Thamel at Christmas. The rooms were clean and nice, and friendly and attentive staff members, Located in a prime location and good value for money.

Great place according to money/service rate

Wow. What a Charging place. Very well located in a quite Street right in the center of Thamel.
So calm and quite. Very big rooftop filled with plants, rooms are simple and very clean. Hot shower 24 hours a day and the nicest and caring hosts.
This guesthouse is one of the oldest Thamel and it has the old vibe of Thamel, before it gotten to be so touristic. So it is a bit outdated but this is part of his charm.
A great place to a long stay.

I was in Nepal for a week. When i searched trip advisor lot of the people were recommending Thamel. Since I was budget one of my acquaintaince referred Imperial Guest House and I booked for 2 nights from *********** The best part about my stay was, this place is a hidden gem since it is located away from noisy Thamel. We found this place welcoming since it is family run. It has wifi, hot and cold shower. Beds are clean, rooms are cozy. This is exactly what I was searching for on a tight budget. Restaurant is not available within the premises, however if you walk few steps you will find multiple shops and restaurants. Lastly donot miss the terrace of the guesthouse if you would like to chill and read books, enjoy sun and drinks. Its only 6kms from Tribhuwan International Airport. Garden of dreams was a lovely place to visit, only 300 meters from the Guest House.

Good clean family run place with great prices and the geek of old school Thamel.

Thamel is full of cheap hotels with high prices. The Imperial, in a quiet alley of Amrit marg, right in the heart of the city, is both refreshing and nostalgic. It's been here thirty years and it's one of the last places that still has the feel of Thamel before the neighborhood started trying to go up market.

It's family run and they'll remember you every time you come back. The rooms are simple, clean, and full of light. Showers are hot, sheets are soft, and you can relax on the rooftop garden to watch the sun set over the city. But the beauty is in the details, like the marble floors, the ornate woodcarvings in the lobby. This isn't just a place to stay, it offers a taste of the subtle pleasure of life in Kathmandu, where you can wake up in the morning to birds and bells and the smell of incense, and step out into an alley where everyone says hi on your way to look for a cup of tea.

If that taste makes you hungry to explore more of the city off the beaten path, ask for Jai at the front desk. He's an experienced tour guide, a guy from the neighborhood, and has formidable knowledge of the culture and history of his city. Hiring him for a day to show you the places that aren't in the tourist guide books is one of the best ways to get off the beaten path and into the beating heart of the city.

If you are on tight budget and need a room to sleep, wifi & hot shower with no higher expectation, this is the perfect affordable hotel. Go for it!

Nice place, everything is in neat and tidy. It's location it's very convenient and at the same time peaceful the attention of the staff is good. Great deal for the price.

excellent value for money. i always stay here when i visit kathmandu. clean, friendly owner, very helpfull staff. in. quiet area, only 2 minutes walk from the hectic, noisy streets of thamel.

Basic, cheap, clean and well situated. Nothing fancy. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Quiet little corner amid the bustle of Katmandu.
