Bastion Hotel Tilburg in Tilburg

This happened last Summer 2024. My wife and I stayed here during Draaimolen Festival and had a very unsettling experience. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt unwelcoming. The décor was drab and dated, and the staff’s attitude gave off a judgmental vibe, as if festival guests were being tolerated rather than welcomed.

The most concerning part of our stay happened on the last night. We witnessed a troubling altercation between staff and a potential guest who appeared confused and upset at the front desk. Instead of de-escalating, the situation escalated very quickly, with the staff member responding harshly. When the guest eventually left the lobby area, two men, including the staff member from the desk, followed him outside and engaged in what appeared to be a violent confrontation. This incident left us extremely shaken.

We felt so unsafe after witnessing this that we packed our things and checked out before our scheduled departure. While the police arrived shortly afterward, the entire episode ruined our stay and left us with lasting concerns about safety and professionalism at this hotel.

For anyone considering this hotel: please be aware of the atmosphere and the way staff interactions may be handled. Based on what we experienced, I cannot recommend staying here.

Booked the hotel via ******* and choose for pay at the hotel. One day before the took the payment from my credit card. I added my credtcard only for garanty not for the payment because my customer should pay the room. The lady at the reception mentioned this was how they work and didn t listen to my arguments. Even when I showed the booking in the ******* app what stated pay at the hotel she refushed to do anything. Next time no bookings at Bastion hotels for me
