Svalbard is a small town so naturally, accommodation is slightly scarcer. Scored this 2 bedroom apartment for 3 of us (extremely huge, big room can sleep 4 - with a bunk bed), huge shared spaces (dining/living), two toilets and all crockery provided for you to cook which was a blessing! I stayed in a 4-person dormitory, and while it was okay for me, the space for suitcases was limited. It could get quite challenging if all guests had large suitcases, so I'd recommend bringing a backpack instead, as you can also use the lockers provided. Very clean and comfortable rooms, with a functional kitchen, ideal for preparing your own meals and a good breakfast that has everything you need to start the day. The hotel is in a peaceful, quiet area about 30 minutes’ walk from the city center, right next to nature. Its location is perfect if you want to step outside at night and enjoy the darkness to see the aurora.

I had a fantastic stay at The Vault! The hotel is spotless, comfortable, and in an excellent location. The breakfast room was pretty small and cosy, but I had no issues finding a space, and the food was delicious! The staff were super friendly and helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, thank you for a wonderful trip!

One of the northernmost hotels, this one has individual rooms but no private bathrooms. Six rooms share one bathroom, which is fine. It's not far from the town's supermarket, but it's only open from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

We chose this hotel, considering other hotels in Longyearbyen were quite expensive. We were pleasantly surprised! First, the layout is unique, like a museum showcasing antiques. Second, the shared living room and kitchen are spacious and well-equipped, with dishes disinfected daily. Third, we met many Chinese people, and the conversation was truly enjoyable.

Basecamp is a stunning property and gives the authentic feel of a base camp ie no tv, phones, or wardrobes in bedrooms. The breakfast had great variety and eggs Benedict was a popular request. The only downside for me as a sole traveller in a triple room was that I had to pay the full price. There are no facilities such as a sauna or pool - but this is the high Arctic so I'm not sure if any accommodation...

Fantastic hotel, unique rooms with such a cozy and great atmosphere. We even got to see the northern lights from the loft!! The staff were all so welcoming, friendly and nice. Excellent breakfast.
