Beautiful historic hotel in idyllic Lillesand! The breakfast was amazing and the location of the hotel is perfect to exploring Lillesand. We wish we had another day to explore the area.

All rooms are great, you feel like in a museum, a clean one! Rooms are charming. The top apartments are a bit too tight for a claustrophobic person like me ☺️ but all in all is a good place. Restaurant is very good too. 👍

Quite an unique hotel experience. The furniture and the athmosphere is fantastic, the location is excelent, you can see the harbour and the oldtown by walk. The breakfast was also super. Our room (family room) was also OK, the bathroom was fully renovated, clean and comfortable.

I only tested the food at the restaurant: Oh my! The sauce was absolutely fantastic!, the portion was not too big and the service and the smile of the people working there were out of the ordinary, exceptionally good. The premises were also neat, clean and pretty. I wonder if this will become my new favorite place to stop by for a bite to eat 🤟💪🏽

What a fantastic hotel that met all our needs. The manager is exceptional and extremely service minded. The food was 10 out of 10, both breakfast and dinner. The rooms were just right and the cleanliness was second to none. Has become our new favourite hotel in Southern Norway and would definitely recommend Vertikalen Hotel to everyone.

We had a fantastic eight course meal and wine pairing at Boen Gård. The atmosphere is also perfect.

We tried 10 course dinner . Score is 7 of 10. The chef hade some problems with balance the courses . But the servic was impeccable!! Can also say the same about the rooms and facilities. Good and a place I really want to recommend. But be aware the prices is a bit steep. 1 night with 10 course 4 glasses of champagne 7700 Norwegian kroner. Around 760 euro :)

Next to the Safari Park, I couldn't visit as I was travelling for business so arrived late and left early for the Airport but will definitely visit again. Amazing for families but I felt very comfortable and welcome as a lone traveller. Very Clean.

Definitely not the value for money. There is nothing except asphalt parking spots and tiny grass spots if you go with a camper. Electricity and showers are extra. Our electricity was cut off in the middle of the night, thankfully the lady who works there was reachable via phone and she fixed it.

Very very clean campsite. New toilet and shower buildings. Very nice RV spots. Parking on asphalt and your awnings on grass. 8/9 minutes walk to Grimstad center. Swimming pool, restaurant on the campsite and a grocery store next to it.

It's a good place to spend a weekend or holiday, walking distance from Grimstad center, if you want to visit Kristiansand Zoo, you can stay here and drive, cheaper than many places in near Zoo.

Super service. I got in really late on check in day. They left the key for me to pick up in designated spot. Which I found without problems. Nice, clean and pleasant apartment with everything I needed for my three night stay there. Better standard than I expected.

It was annoying that we should pay higher amount of money for this 5 star camping and we choosed to have electricity included -and then we still needed to pay 30kr for shower using a QR code and credit card. Scandic Kristiansand Our weekend stay was excellent despite the staff being busy with a convention.

Not used to European Hotels but there were no tissues or a garbage can capable of holding anything above a few tissues. We did not want cleaning service so it was a bit of an issue for me. Bed was more comfortable than expected and the room was nice. Necessities only which was fine. Breakfast was outstanding at the restaurant.

This hotel really exceeded my expectations. Kristiansand itself is a beautiful little town, and this hotel is also great. It is in a commercial area where you can go shopping and eat. The breakfast in the hotel is average, but the room is very clean and comfortable. The front desk is also very good and has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I highly recommend it.

I often stay at Thon hotels when traveling for business. This one is a bit more relaxed, and it's very conveniently located next to a church. By Scandinavian hotel standards, the service is acceptable. The rooms are large with radiators, and the bathrooms are small but have underfloor heating.

This hotel was in a great location in the centre of kristiansand with easy walking to everywhere ! Plus they had parking next to the hotel although they charge and have no ev chargers . But we had a great stay .

Clean but no food Nice hotel even though the location is a bit off. The hotel restaurant was closed for the summer and the only food you could buy was youghurt, chocolate and crisps. Central location and very nice breakfast for the price per night. Super soft mattress, couldn’t sleep for 2 nights. There’s a column in the bedroom that starts playing music and saying something in local language and you can’t turn it off. Not good experience

On the left side of the bed there was an uncomfortable crease that made it nearly impossible to sleep. The staff asked us upon check-in if we’d been there before. Greit hotel for en kort opphold

Historic place with tours and history of the place available. This is a theme hotel where you can really learn and get an understanding of how life in prison is. Focus is to prevent young people from entering a criminal life. Hosts are very welcoming and open about all aspects of prison life. Highly recommended.
