+ Location and helpful people at reception.
- Room quality wasn't enough. Expecting better. Also breakfast could be improved.

Great hotel on the Fontanka Embankment. Close walking distance to Nevsky Prospekt, about 10 mins from great main shopping area. The reception staff were exceptional and very helpful. The breakfast restaurant was wonderful., and great selection. Great relaxing position overlooking the canal. Busy but quiet. The shower was not the best at draining away , but a good clean hotel and very comfortable.

Good hotel within walking distance from Nevskii, great location at the Fontanka, stop for tour boats right outside the hotel. Rooms quite small as usual for a townhouse hotel. Breakfast is good, though not excellent. Prices quite elevated as everywhere in St. Pete.

With respect, it baffles me how some have given great reviews to this hotel. Perhaps they had better rooms. But in our experience, the room smelled like smoke. Furniture was shabby and barely passable. The bed was not comfortable. Definitely sub-par when compared to Western European standards. The water (although you are not supposed to drink it anyway), had a strong iron smell. The day we arrived, the water pump was broken, so had no running water for awhile. To its credit however, the room was clean.

Tip: Definitely not to be confused with the "Astoria" Hotel with a similar name. Overall, a marginal experience.

Expensive, beautiful, strictly. All on the level. The location of the walk, but it is rather a plus.

Three-star hotel of a good standard, the accommodation includes the buffet breakfast, with hot and cold dishes. Discrete flow rates and savoury, almost non-existent, the course of sweet. In general convenient for location is the availability to keep the luggage outside of the hours of express check-in / check-out

This is a good place for rest. But I don't smoke and I hate it... Sometimes I fel this smoke and always I opened windows :(

I had very nice stay here in September. My room was overlooking Fontanka river and city, that was lovely. Suite was new and nice, with Spa bathtube for two and quality furniture. Hotel is located in the historical centre, between 5 subway stations and at river embankment, which was pleasent for my walks to Nevsky street. By the way - grocery is in hotel building and there are a lot of cafes and restaurants around: Chinese, italian, Mc donalds etc. I had only breakfast in hotel, but in my room was 24 hours room service menu. I didn't try it, so have nothing to say about. If you don't have plan to explore the city, you can buy excursions at hotel reception, that start from hotel. i think this place is perfect to discover city and enjoy river views.

Very beautiful view. Hotel is close to sightseeing places and main attractions. They also can organize excursions for foreigners from hotel. I recommend room on 4-5th floor and sunny side to enjoy the view or room with green yard view, if you prefer silence. i found a nice advantage 24 hours room service.

Booked a room for newlyweds. Room dirty, hair in the Jacuzzi, the bed kind of garbage. Twice the wrong sinapine names and the cleaner for a long time before check-out time was staches and asked"and why haven't they left already." Transfer from the hotel included in the room rate was sent through one hour and a half later the ordered time.
