Piterskaya Hotel in St. Petersburg

The only good thing about this hotel is the location. It is very central located, with access to many restaurants. Unfortunately, pretty much everything else about the hotel was unpleasant. It is important to note that this hotel is very small. It is located in a housing building, in which there are no elevators and the reception is in a hallway. When we arrived the male staff member which greeted us was very unwelcoming and unfriendly. However, the female staff members which were present during the rest of the week were friendlier.

The rooms were small and not particularly clean. There were hairs in the bed, and the towels were old and had holes in them. The bathroom was really really small, and the shower was a bit dirty as well. The water which came out of the shower smelled like wet dogs, which made showering not very pleasant. The water also didn’t drain, which the hotel solved after a couple of days, but only after we had mentioned it multiple times.

One of our rooms was on the top floor, which got really hot, although it wasn’t even 20 degrees outside. There was air-conditioning in the room, which hardly worked at all. When on, the room would not cool off even after a couple of hours. The hotel is also very noisy, as doors can be heard opening and closing. The bed was small, but not very uncomfortable. However, the curtains were not enough to cover the entire window, which is a problem when you stay there during the white nights, since it doesn’t really get dark at all. Therefore, we all had to buy a sleeping mask around the corner. Lastly, the breakfast was awful. The breakfast is situated in a café next to the hotel, but you can only choose from 3 types of breakfast. These are quite small and not tasty at all. The breakfast gets old really fast if you stay there for multiple nights.

We also had to communicate before our stay with the hotel by email. They answered very unprofessionally, or sometimes not at all, until we send a second email asking for their response.

Overall this hotel is not worth the price for what they offer, as only the location is good. In Moscow we stayed in a central located hotel for a similar price which was on a different level from this one. I would not recommend this hotel.

The Comfort Room. Vacationing in may 2015. Cleaned in the room only if we asked for it and not the best way, the table and glasses were always dirty after cleaning. Towels were not enough, the room had only two in the population, then each day added one at a time. Although put on two per person and one at his feet. Very cramped and dark bathroom. Constant dampness, cold slippery floor, even the rubber Mat is put, so as not to be killed. Poor lighting in the room dark. The room was on the second floor and the Windows looked out directly into the foundry over the porch. I feel like the window curtains we were all the time closed. Air conditioning worked poorly. The room was cold, musty smell if not aired. And to clear - you need to open the window, but then terribly noisy from the street. Audibility is strong, it is impossible to sleep in the morning, I hear the front door and anyone in the hallway. We were saved by the fact that we walked a lot and therefore was very tired. The room had a kettle and a fridge. Although we assumed that the room would be at least a kettle! The TV weighs incorrectly! He turned to the window, i.e. in a corner, and not in the direction of the room to the bed, apparently not the bracket selected. And the remote is not terribly comfortable, though it is a small thing, but annoying switching all channels to the desired. The Breakfast, though tasty, but it is very symbolic, this man can not feed. From pluses - friendly staff and convenient location. But do not come to this hotel, the photo numbers are better than in reality. In fact, very closely. No idea what's the standard....Generally one night or two to stay. We lived a week and are tired. The price is still too high and the level of comfort is not responsible. The choice is huge in St. Petersburg and choose only from considerations of good location not anymore. I want to relax when you settle in a hotel, and no running in the hallway for hot water, to suffer from damp and not much sleep because of the noise and in an hour after Breakfast again go in search of food.

You should absolutely not stay in this hotel for the only reason that you cannot sleep here (this is quite a paradox for an hotel!) : there is a bar/night club stuck to the hotel with live musics every night from 9pm to 4am. The music and instruments are so strong that you not only hear noise but can feel the vibrations.
We usually never complain whereas we travel a lot because if we sleep (which is the sole aim of an hotel), we can ignore the inconvenients. But this time we decided to report it to the hotel as we could not sleep at all and had booked 5 nights. The redhead woman at the reception showed that she did not care by just saying she could not do anything with the noise of the street. We indicated it was not the current noise of the street (that we would accept) but really a night club with hard music all the night and every day, but she did not stop repeating that she cannot control the noise of the street. Never saw staff who does not care of the clients in a hotel...
Otherwise the hotel has several other problems (it stinks, the curtains are too short for the windows and do not cover light even in the night, the breakfast is small and not tasty, ...) but this is nothing in comparison with the fact that this hotel is maybe a good place to listen to concerts but absolutely not to sleep.

Great location only..
