The place is so beautiful and clean nice beach and friendly staff .We took bed and breakfast and sat outside the restaurant where the view is so beautiful it’s real paradise couldn’t ask for more

We stayed at Islander Hotel for 5 nights. While check-in was pleasant, the overall experience was disappointing for the price. Cleanliness was poor — rooms were only cleaned every other day, and there were no housekeeping staff regularly present. The receptionist was friendly at first but largely unhelpful afterward.

We weren’t informed that water supply stops during the night. While we understand the water scarcity in Seychelles, most hotels have water storage solutions — this one did not. There were also insects and reptiles in the villa, which made the stay uncomfortable.

The restaurant had very limited variety and hardly any guests, so we often had to cook ourselves or travel far to find decent food. The lighting inside the villa was extremely dim, creating a gloomy and depressing atmosphere in the evenings.

We didn’t feel especially welcome overall, and guest support seemed minimal. The beach shown in photos isn’t usable due to strong currents, so we had to travel daily to other beaches. The property has potential but is poorly managed. It feels like the owner is absent and the current team is disengaged. We definitely overpaid and wouldn’t recommend this place in its current state

Located in a quiet area, has its own small private beach area (sadly weather meant sea was a bit rough for the latter part of our stay), but for the first part lovely for a dip, with nobody else around. The room is a semi bungalow, very spacious, comfy bed, good bathroom, with both AC and fan. WiFi was good with no issues. Breakfast is basically set but worked well for us, and same for dinner. The half board kept us well fed and costs down. There is a nearby takeaway, very popular with locals, for lunch and a convenience store at the end of the road. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout. Only negative was housekeeping not consistent on being done, but this was not an issue for us. A great place to stay to avoid the crowds.

I booked a superior one bed room, which consists of very good sized double bedroom, kitchen with microwave, grill, oven and hot plate and everything you need for your stay (including a kitchen table if you wish to eat indoors!), bathroom with double sinks and shower and a great patio with table and chairs. There are ceiling fans and air conditioning. Everything was spotlessly clean with daily cleaning and linen and towels were changed every two days. Miette and her team were great and Miette was able to arrange taxis and excursions for me as I needed them. The bungalows are opposite the on-site restaurant (which serves Creole style food all day) and adjacent to the private beach. There are local shops and a takeaway within 5-15 minutes walk (dependent on what you want). Apart from the hotel’s own beach, you are only a short walk away from Anse Georgette, which the guidebooks mark as one of the two best beaches on the island. It’s accessed via a luxury hotel, which houses the Seychelles only 18-hole golf course and is a beautiful walk in itself. You can also get the local bus (which stops outside the hotel) around the island to visit many of the other beaches and villages, including the UNESCO world heritage site of Valle de Mai. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Islander and am happy to recommend it to fellow travellers. Anse Kerlan is a quiet area of the island and ideal for a relaxing break, but you also have the option of easily visiting other areas should you wish.

After arriving and paying for 5 nights we were shown a stinky bungalow where shortly we found several cockroaches in the bed and bathroom on the same day. Owners claimed this is normal as we came to Seychelles so we should have "expected cockroaches are here". They said we can resign but they will not return our money and that we will find cockroaches in all next hotels as well so no point. We resigned and never slept in this nightmare place, and they never returned us money saying we can publish pictures and videos of cockroaches and they do not care. This shows 620 Euro is more important for them than avoiding this review you are reading which says a lot about these people. Also they said we should know that having light on in the room and open windows are reasons why cockroaches visited our bed. I asked how on earth that could be prevented as there is no glass in the windows or doors of the bungalows so you can not close the place to prevent insects and lizards from entering. In fact you can easily put your all fingers through each window and the doors. They had no idea how to respond to this argument and said we should not use light in the room when it is dark outside (if you like siting in dark after 6pm this may help) ! At some point they said we must have put these cockroaches ourselves into the bed and bathroom on purpose and made a video of them as we did not like their place and wanted to get our money back this way as other guests they had in the past (I have a recording of this surreal conversation). We never got our money back for these 5 days we have not spent there and we had to pay again for the next hotel (obviously not a single cockroach there). They obviously lied to us saying each hotel will have cockroaches trying to manipulate us into staying at their place which would ruin our holidays. Avoid this place and their owners at all costs!

The bed is so comfortable it just swallows you to sleep. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The meals are tasteful and well flavoured. The ambience is calming and relaxing. There's a stretch of beautiful white sandy beach for lovely morning walk.

Great accommodation on Praslin
Excellent self catering accommodation with plenty of space in a lovely location. The private beach is delightful and the hotel is well located to explore the rest of the beautiful island. Really helpful staff and clean, comfortable rooms. Breakfast was really good everyday, perfectly cooked eggs!

Fair price for a good sized guest house.
Daily room service and friendly people.
A car rental service is right next to the guest houses. The hotel service will however manage all rental related things for you - nice.
Supermarkets are nearby (1 min walk).
You have free WiFi with fast and reliable connections.
They have even giant tortoises living next to the area.
We would visit again.

Total Relax
First, the owners and staff are lovely people who went way out of their way to make sure that we were comfortable and taken care of - they offered everything from great local tips, to organising boat excursions for us (whatever you do, don't miss out on a visit to Cousin Island!), to shipping our left-behind cell phone to us! Our bungalow was very comfortable: Spacious, immaculately clean on arrival (and cleaned daily if desired) and very peaceful. The restaurant is in a lovely setting, within a lovely garden from where you can watch the waves roll in, and enjoy beautiful sunsets. There are sunbeds available , or just find yourself a spot in the sand (sunny and shady spots). You can easily float in the waves, but I recommend bringing water shoes (anyway much safer in the Seychelles due to the possibility of sleeping Rays, Stonefish, etc.). We enjoyed several delicious lunches and dinners in their Capricorn restaurant, and truly enjoyed the fresh tropical juice blends in between meals. The Islander is located in a quiet part of the island, and is connected to the rest of the island by bus, the bus stop being across the street from the entrance. You can also enjoy a panoramic walk over to the famous Anse Lazio. (Although our favorite beaches were the small ones found between Grand Anse and Anse Marie Louise). We loved staying here and look forward to returning to long mornings watching and listening to the fire-orange Madagascar Fodies calling from the soft-leafed Indian laburnum tree just next to our veranda, and the flickering Seychelles Sunbirds foraging in the adjacent Geiger Tree. Bungalow 1 has our highest recommendation!
