Apartments Vila Barka in Portoroz Airport

It's absurd how much they charge for this place. We would never recommend staying in “Villa” Barka to anyone, not even to our worst enemies! The place looks and feels like it's never been renovated, it's dusty and falling apart - and yet they value it at 140 EUR per night for 2 people. The hallway leading to the apartment is open to the public and has no lights, so you feel a little nervous while you're wandering around hoping to hit the right door. The apartment interior is straight out of the 70s, and the additional (3rd) bed is really an ancient dusty couch for which we paid 30 EUR extra per night (so the overall cost was 170 EUR). The bathroom door handle is barely holding onto the door, the doors are all falling apart from the moisture, the “new” toilet seat does not cover the toilet, there is grime on the taps and the corners of the place haven’t been properly cleaned in a very long time. The flooring is carpet and together with the tapestry bed and couch, the whole place is definitely not safe for asthmatics. There was a loud party in the neighbouring apartments until late, but nobody was picking up the phone at the reception nor did anything about it. When we complained about the state of the place we were offered a 15% discount, which still left us with a ridiculous price for such an accommodation, and they served some unconvincing excuses about how they would have found us a better room had we complained on the first day, despite being told previously that everything is fully booked, and that the place is getting renovated soon. It is shameful how they treat their guests and what they choose to rent out at a premium price. Never again!
