Hotel Majer'ca in Bohinjsko Jezero

Pros: location, breakfast, view from restaurant/lawn Cons: poor customer service, lack of hot water Our family of 4 stayed in 14B, a family room. There was an issue with the hot water heater, so that there was only about 7 minutes worth of hot water to shower (for a family of 4). The reception desk is not staffed, with a sign asking that we speak with someone at the restaurant— so we spoke with one of the waiters who seemed annoyed/put out. No one got back to us with whether issue was resolved. We had the same issue the next day, told the same person again, and it was again met with indifference/annoyance. Given that there was still no one at reception I emailed the hotel and received a response by email from Kristina thanking us for bringing it to their attention. Meanwhile we were having dinner at their restaurant and the waiters were curt and provided minimal service (did not replace empty water until we asked twice, never filled our wine glasses, never checked on us.) On check out we found out from Kristina that she did not know about the issue until she spoke with the waiters after getting our email- which probably explains their cold service. Though she gave us a discount on the room charges Kristina’s “apology” for not just the cold showers but also the poor communication/service was inadequate, mostly bringing up no access to a plumber over the weekend. It seems like a poor staffing model if legitimate customer concerns have to be brought to waiters, who appear bothered by the interruption, and do not communicate with the higher ups. We have spent over a week in Slovenia and everyone we met had been lovely and gracious- this experience stood out as unusual and unfortunately left us with a bad taste. We would not stay here again.
