Hostel 24 Center in Ljubljana

Regarding the double room; Location is very good, you are really two minutes on foot from the dragons bridge, main market square and the pedestrian zone. However the rooms are not just small but tiny and very low, it's difficult to take a shower because you hit the ceiling. Very oppressive, towels are tiny too and mattress so thin that you feel it hard. All in all is worth just if you are staying one night and you don't stay in the hostel at all but to sleep.

Stay clear of this hostel!!!!!!!!! NOT ALL ROOMS HAVE AIR CON even though it is advertised as they do!!!! It was an awful experience, mouldy showers and a horrible stench from the bathroom. Myself and my friends booked two private rooms - attracted to this hostel ONLY because of the air conditioning. One 3 bed room and one 4 bed room. We were a group of 5. The 3 person room had air conditioning, the other did not. We could not all fit in one room, although we squashed in. We were appalled at the way we were treated when this was brought to the manager’s attention. The lady at reception was kind, it was not her fault. We booked this hostel only because it had air conditioning and it did not. We received a fan that was no help and it was disgustingly warm in the window-less room. It was like a dungeon. As for the room that did have air conditioning, it did the job but the smell and the mould, as well as the ants on the wall were very disturbing. Anyway - the main aim of this review is so that people understand not all rooms have air conditioning. Only some rooms do and there’s no way of knowing if your room has it or not. The manager and lady at reception tried to tell us that you know if you have air conditioning or not depending on the room you book on the HostelWorld website. They both said it appears when you click on the room you want when booking. As we booked through HostelWorld I double checked this by inputting a different date onto the website to see if it would tell me if air con was available or not in these rooms and this was not true. The fact that they advertise as having air conditioning and do not have it in all rooms needs to be clarified. We couldn’t change rooms as they were fully booked. Stay clear unless you want a sweaty, disgusting, smelly experience! Worst hostel my group and I have stayed in during our inter-railing experience. I never write reviews but this has to be shared.

Firstly I must say the member of staff who we met at reception was lovely and helpful, however the times stated for access say 8.00am to 10.00pm this was not the case. Reception, consequently the only area to sit and relax outside your room was closed from around 5.00pm until the following afternoon 14.00… The room in which we stayed although large, had limited natural light the additional side rooms had no natural light at all. The only window was small and the outlook was simply dyer. The kitchen areas were in the basement again no natural light. Granted equipment etc.. was available and this was a plus. The washing machine took hours to cycle and the dryer was ineffective. This residence simply lacks TLC… although all the TLC in the world would not rectify the lack of light in bedrooms nor the dingy basement cooking and eating areas. Regrettably my advice is to steer clear as this hostel does not live up to the standards of similar advertised properties. It goes without saying this is an establishment to which I shall not return.
