Staff VERY friendly and professional. Meals excellent,varied and plentiful, catering staff all VERY hygienic. Outdoor pool very nice didn't use indoor pool too warm outside. Short distance to the beach. Entertainment on every night.

Excelent hotel for gamily with kids. The entertainment at the hotel is very good and lots of activities for the young ones. Relaxed and friendly place and very good staff.

Came here for two weeks on half board. Although we’d not upgraded from a basic double we were given a one bedroom apartment on the top floor. We faced west and great views over the marshes. Hotel very smart and food good, very noisy restaurant with a lot of loud Spanish family groups . Pool area lovely, beds cordoned off until 10 am!! Supermarkets near and beach wonderful. Heard very little English...

Hotel was very clean but everything seemed to be written in Spanish, even the entertainment was aimed for the Spanish visitors. All menus, posters were written in Spanish, the staffs English was not great and it did feel that if you were at the bar and did not speak Spanish you would not get served straight away, it was very hard to work out what was included in the all inclusive package ie snacks...

Just perfect. Everything was top notch from the rooms, the fixtures and fittings, and the beds with a choice of pillows and the best week of sleep ever! The staff were attentive and efficient. All the interior of the hotel was beautifully decorated, exceptionally clean and just felt great to be there. The food was amazing every day. Whilst this hotel is in a beautiful location. Stunning scenery, find hotel food lacking especially in the evening can be crowded and bit of a bun fight. Difficult to catch attention to get a drink with meal. Lunch time meal excellent fresh salads etc. Room has a wonderful view. Staff I've encountered are all friendly and attentive. Only been here a day and they started closing pool bar at 08:00pm...

This hotel and staff were excellent from arrival to departure. The room we had was very nice and overlooked the estuary and sea. The only downside was no light on the balcony, but this is a minor moan Food was presented very well and always plenty of variety, I love seafood, so i was in my element , breakfast also had plenty of choice. Peaceful, relaxed, the hotel gives spa vibes! Very much an older audience and a higher end experience. Comfortable beds, large stylish rooms. If you want hustle bustle, this place isn’t for you. Third visit and still a fantastic hotel.Food is delicious,plenty of room to sit/lie outside round the pools and staff very friendly and helpful.Special mention to Carlos on reception who helped us upgrade even when hotel was almost full and to Julia in the dining room for her friendly and efficient service.

We have just packed to go home in the morning.This is our second time we have visited this hotel it is amazing from the staff that greet you to the cleaners waiters and top marks for all the chefs in the kitchens the food here is amazing so much chose all well cooked and displayed lovely. We stayed here in September and were amazed by the friendliness, cleanliness and entire atmosphere in the resort. From the moment of checking in, throughout the entire stay and also at the breakfast / dinner super polite and professional service, while giving the human and welcoming touch. Totally recommended!

Another excellent visit, we had a very enjoyable stay. Great food and accommodation. This is the best Barcelo we have stopped at so far. The Andalusian building style is very pleasing with its waterfalls and displays of flowers.

September after kids are back in school. Rooms are spacious, newly refurbished with all amenities that are required. Pool is a good temperature ( probably 28°), lots of choice of food, of a good quality. The pizza restaurant is great. Pasta, bruchetta, pizza etc and the wine is excellent. Special mention to Joao Ferriasao. Great personal service. Much appreciated.

We had an overall rather average stay at Vila Galé Isla Canela and would likely not choose to return. Nevertheless if you don’t have too much expectations, the hotel is basically fine. Nice Hotel, most of the staff are great, the majority of customers late August 2025 are Portuguese on holiday. They are all nice/ pleasant, not loud, thugish or entitled crowd. Drinking is minimal no drunks just casual lunch style drinking culture. Food is Spanish/ Portuguese not a large variety of dishes but of a good quality, fresh and plentyful. Great place for a quick getaway. No transport easily available to the site. Close to a clean beach. Great pools! Away from habitat it is quite peaceful. The service was friendly. There are a couple of restaurants from the hotel about a mile away. Half board customers get great breakfast & buffet dinner.

The town is small, so i would definitely recommend having a car in this area, unless you're fine with only staying at the pool and/or beach, and staying in the immediate area for food — the area is blocked off by waterways on all sides but you can take a ferry into Isla Cristina for a few more options (also small though) We took a day...

The entire experience is very good if you are looking for an all inclusive system. Food of the restaurant could be even better for a 5 star experience in a 4 star hotel. Clean Rooms, good variety of entertainment and an amazing staff ready to support you, always with a smile!

Stayed for 11 nights in a superior garden room on a half board basis. Holiday was great value for money and we enjoyed that the garden area went directly out to the pool area, ideal for the kids.
