Парламент Пэлэс Отель in Khudzhand

This is rated apparently as a 4 star hotel. So many issues. The in house sushi restaurant does burgers, pizzas and sushi. We watched our burger order come from the truckstop pizza/burger bar across the road. 20 minutes later the pizza came after we chased the order, which had clearly been forgotten. No issue outsourcing your prep, but manage it properly. Cannot pay the bill in the restaurant by credit card. They would not give us a detailed invoice despite repeated requests, things we ordered were not delivered and the bill didn’t make sense. But we can charge to the room - and that can be paid by credit card. The safe didn’t work, we reported that on night 1 of a 2 night stay. Go back the next day, they can come sometime after midday to fix it. Not very helpful when going out for the day. Breakfast is very basic with a strict one coffee per person ration - after that you pay. The room is actual quite nice but overlooking a disco that operates all night. The staff are incredibly indifferent about the issues - probably because they get them every day. I suspect once upon a time this was a grand hotel, it is now like a waxwork museum. Not sure what options there are in this town but there must be better than this,

Run down , obviously past glory now a dump. Dirty rude staff, first time in Central Asia I felt unsafe in a hotel as many strange people just in the lobby for no purpose. Nothing really works and right next to an all night karaoke bar meaning you can’t sleep. Breakfast had minimal choices , bad coffee but could only have one other wise “ you pay” . Compared to the joy of other hotels . Despite tour placing me here and paid already after the first night will be looking to pay elsewhere it is so horrible . Avoid at all costs.

All was quiet and relaxing until 9pm when the disco started on floor 1. The manager said he would call to ask that they turn it down. They would not. I went back downstairs and spoke to manager directly. I actually felt sorry for him as he’s been here 5 yrs and appears at the mercy of those banshees - but he had no answer as to why he put us in this room earlier KNOWING what would happen between 9pm and midnight. The screaming and music travels up every floor through the stairway. At 10pm, after we were settled for the night, the manager suggested we move one floor higher. I went upstairs but the moment I exited the elevator the screaming and music traveled right up that stairway as well. Advice: pick a different hotel. I will be sure to advise my tour company, Step Journeys of the same.
