We chose this hotel because it was close to the river and away from the main part of town. Covered parking is located across the street. We booked using Agoda but after arriving, we upgraded (extra cost) to an upstairs room with a view. The stairs are a bit steep so take your time on them. The room had an eclectic charm to it. The bed was very comfortable and the AC worked very well. There is a nice pool so don't forget your swim suits!

Fantastic tiny boutique hotel backing on to the Mekong River. The host went out of his way to help and suggest local attractions. Very relaxing atmosphere. May be 2 stars by the book but definitely a 5 star expirence

Great place to enjoy a peaceful Mehkong river holiday. Nice family run hotel, my room had a beautiful balcony facing the river. Older style hotel that feels special. Enjoy the view , don't expect luxury. Be happy and view the Kong river.

1. We had a room at the extreme left of the building. It had a very shaky door which didn't provide any security or protection against any potential assault.
2. The toilet was lacking in every aspect. There was a slug in the bathing area.
3. The Aircon was very noisy and I had to literally checkout at the middle of the night because I only made myself tired in an effort to find sleep under such conditions. Sorry to the owners but I think they should provide better service quality than this.

Beautiful Place in Nong Khai, you should see this. Very Clean Place, stunning view to Mekong and to Laos. The Family who own it are so friendly and helpful. Our Room has everything you need and is beautiful. My Son enjoyed the Pool very much. It's near the Centre, 2 Km.
Actually we want to stay only one Day, but honestly we will extend it for few more Days. We Stay here from 18.04 to 20.04.2024. And we will definitely come again. Best Wishes and Regards to the Family 🇹🇭🤗

beware some of the Tripadvisor pictures are not Sofa Gallery Hotel. The Sofa Gallery is somewhat dirty, breakfast is terrible, rooms are small. The bathroom to our room was on the balcony. Sofa Gallery is run down. When I asked for coffee to wash down the breakfast I was told only instant coffee. I asked about the coffee and was told it has not worked in a couple years. I asked for anything to was down the breakfast and was told I could buy bottled water. The pool water 1/4 to 1/3 full, tv didnt work. Rundown.

I have stayed here many times now and am always happy, safe, and comfortable here. Breakfast is good and the lady working there in the morning is very accommodating to requests. Front desk personnel are also outstanding. Location very good and one street away from activity so much quieter than other nearby hotels. It's not a 5-star hotel so have reasonable expectations. Very good value for the money. Highly recommend.

A great boutique hotel on the Maekong River, only a handful of rooms each one individually designed, beautiful tropical courtyard with Thai sculptures and fishpond, garden coffee shop and professional barista available all hours. Breakfasts are enormously generous and aroy maak (delicious).
By far the staff are the friendliest and most helpful I have encountered. They are always free ready to meet your requirements, yet invisible if you are seeking solace or relaxation.
I had the misfortune of a road accident, knocking two young riders from their bike. A daunting experience when I don't speak Thai and the local authorities in Nong Kai speak limited English. Staff guided me through complicated local processes relating to contact with the police, communicating with insurance representatives and negotiating compensation for the young girls on the bike. Their translation assistance was invaluable to me and at one point they attended the police station with me for a whole afternoon. Thank you Mak and others!
Highly recommended alternative to large hotels.... I will return.
