Baan Souchada Resort & Spa in Sara Buri

What we like
- Spacious resort in general and for the room that we stayed (Pool villa room 501)
- Unique Thai decorations of the room and common space
- Room service without extra charge
- Polite staff
- Toiletries are nice, they use L’octane
- Personal pool at pool villa, spacious and pretty well maintained

What we don’t like
- The drain in the shower room is clogged. After 2 mins of showering you have to choose whether to continue showering with flooding on the floor, invading into the ‘dry’ area or you gotta stop and wait until the clog is gone and continue your shower. I’ve never been to a five-star hotel experiencing this problem before. Very disappointing.
- The jacuzzi doesn’t work. First thing the receptionist told us is that she will send someone to prepare jacuzzi for us as it would take at least 1-2 hrs so we can use it after dinner. However, we ended up not being able to use the jacuzzi. They sent someone to fill the water at the beginning but grease are all over the water in jacuzzi tub, not sure if it’s ever properly cleaned before. After an hour of filling, we go check the tub and water is not warm, calling the reception and they sent someone over for the second round. This time the staff said the first person who went in didn’t turn on the hot water for us, so she will need to drain the tub first and putting warm water in again. We agreed with her suggestion and let her do the work. Later she said all is well and left the scene. We later go and check, finding that the water is still cold. After reading the jacuzzi manual provided, we try to adjust the temperature of the water but it didn’t work, calling for help again but this time they said no housekeeper available as all already off their shifts. We were again very disappointed as this room we book has no tub, jacuzzi is the only way we all could chill together in a nice warm water. Please also note that the jacuzzi is outdoor, so while using it you might experience some snails, mosquitoes, spiders, and even a cat!! After the stay, we still not sure whether the jacuzzi is really not working or it’s because no staff is properly trained to use and prepare it for guests. Compared with the price paid (almost 500 sgd), I think this problem needs to be solved right away on the spot.
- Western food: Thai food served by the restaurant is really nice but their western dishes are really not worth the price.
- The zoo: it seems like the resort is promoting the ‘farm visit’ activity, but in general it’s a quick 15-min tour on the golf cart visiting personal farm of the resort owner. Nothing special.
