Regent Room in Surat Thani City

I am not surprised that this hostel is rated 5 stars. This was a hostel experience that I do not have often. Kin, the owner, picked me up from the bus station and at night took me, his wife and kids and 2 others from the hostel to his favorite restaurant where I had one of my best meals in Thailand! Quality guy. The shower was great, the beds are comfy, and the rooftop is super chill. A+. Thank you Kin

- The doors are not creaky anymore.
- Moisture builds on the walls looks better
- Toilets and sinks are unblocked.

[–] Aircond in the room runs at freaking 16 degrees. The blanket is square and too short so you end up feeling cold... I had to use it in diagonal to be able to cover feet and shoulders. Other people in the dorm were sleeping in a ball shape to feel warm...

[–] Only one shower out of 3 still runs hot water. The other 2 are broken. Not the end of the world though but might be fixed later.

The double room runs Aircond but you cannot close the window as it's a blind style. Here you can enjoy the enormous amount of energy that is wasted.

For many, I'll be the annoying guy who complain about everything. To me, facilities should be clean and work properly. The hostel is next to the road, so a bit noisy but I accept that. If a room or a bed is small, I would accept that as well.

I'm glad my review helped the owner to improve his place. That's the first time I see an owner reacting that fast to a comment. They even sent me pictures (attached) of the stuff they fixed. I totally respect that. I added 2 stars.

I have been travelling for a year and this was by far my best night sleep. The room is nice and cool and completely black when all the lights are off. The beds are extremely comfortable and for the already cheap price you get a towel included. Very friendly staff and a kitchenette you can use to prepare your own food. There is also free tea and coffee and a small selection of bread for breakfast. The showers are massive too and there is a rooftop chillout area. I cannot recommend this place enough. Thankyou for restoring my faith in cheap hostels!

I stayed there and it was absolutely the best! I felt like I was a VIP guest the whole time. Kin makes it amazing and his family make you feel like a long time friend. Comfortable beds. Amazing breakfast and very nice place to just hang all day. Beyond my expectations.

Amazing, amazing, AMAZING!!. Neat, tidy and spotless (the most comfortable bed I've slept on in Thailand). Owner is super awesome. Good food and drink prices. Offered free breakfast, free room upgrade and pickup/drop off. Just need to call when you arrive in Surat Thani. Close to everything. Layout is amazing and has a bar/restaurant on the premises. Definitely recommend to anyone. Will be returning soon. Love this place!!
