You have not only to stop by in this city in Capadoccia. My best experience was morning jogging and exercise nearby the city, in places where no tourists were. Try to run north of the city, stay in this valley, but find orchards, little chaples and cellars in chimneys... There are some myths about a magic valley full of singing birds, that it is amazing to have a sleeping bag and spend a night there, I have not found that place, but I've heard a lot.
cappadocia is a region of turkey, do not miss it you will have a breathtaking view over the valley of goreme with its cave dwellings and its landscapes of unspeakable it feels like sometimes on another planet.
