Gazel Butik Otel in Sanliurfa

We stayed here for 2 nights. The room was totally fine but the bathroom was almost unusably tiny. Nevertheless, the owners are really nice, friendly people. The wifi was very fast and reliable, the breakfast superb, and the location is excellent. Don't count on parking anywhere near the hotel though, unless you have a very small car or you're a driver with nerves of steel. They told us to go down into extremely narrow little streets and the only reason our car didn't get completely scretched is because the person driving kept his cool and is very experienced. But if you'd like a memorable, authentic experience and visit amazing places on foot (Pool of Abraham, bazaar, Archeology Museum etc) and you like quirky accomodation I suggest checking out this place. Keep in mind that they ask to pay in cash, no cards of any type are accepted.

I found this place because of its great reviews, and it lived up to it! It is a family-run business and our hosts were gracious and accommodating. Akhmed showed us around town on our first day, bringing us to a restaurant with incredible food when we asked for dinner reservations and showing us to Prophet Abraham’s cave as well. They also helped us get a taxi to and from Göbeklitepe at a reasonable rate. Would stay here again.

Even if when I arrived the room was hot as an oven, the A/C works properly and I was able to have a good rest. The bed was nice, the toilet were clean and they also served breakfast.

The guesthouse is located in a traditional building in the historical center. There are some peculiarities about living in the old district but it is perfect for sightseeing, very close to main attractions. Or you can just enjoy tea on the terrace. This small family hotel is run by a father and son who do their best to help their guests with taxi, transfer, luggage, food, whatever. The breakfast is delicious.
We booked for 2 nights at first, but then we decided to prolong our stay for few more days. Really authentic experience. Many thanks to the Alkan Otel!
