The room was clean and well maintained. Staff helpful. Hotel location is on the city Main Street, a 15 minute walk to the city centre!
Next time in Kirovograd i will be staying there again.
However, the hotel itself, has turned into a hostel for the flight academy "students" from Africa, Columbia, Iraq etc. The conduct of these "guests has been appalling. Spitting into their water glass at the breakfast table; picking their bare feet at the dinner table, bare feet in the restaurant, spitting into lobby plants…to name a few behaviours observed. Rude, loud, intrusive, inconsiderate of other "paying" guests. If a hotels status is in part based on the guests it caters to, Reikartz Kirovograd is now at best, a hostel with over priced rooms. And speaking of the rooms, let be really honest; they are older styled furniture, outdated decor, bigger, old style TV sets, smaller screens. And worst of all…the rooms here have NO SOUNDPROOFING between rooms. You can hear EVERYTHING from the rooms on either side of you - TV, music, phone ringing, normal conversations, alarm clocks, cell phone conversations, cell phones ringing, bathroom duties, farts, belches and worst….you'll hear someone snoring all night. There is absolutely ZERO sound proof between rooms, and I am not even close to exaggerating! Plus right out side the hotel windows, is a noisy construction sight as they build a new church right next door - literally 15 feet away. If none of this is an issue for you at these prices, then you will enjoy your room. And don't waste your money in their restaurant. Yes, the serving staff is absolutely wonderful and attentive, but the food is pure crap.
Lets distinguish between the food/ingredients the kitchen is given to work with by Reikratz, and the actual preparation. Preparation great. Quality of food and ingredients used is crap.
A supposed filet mignon steak, one of the most expensive cuts of meat anywhere, that turned out to be 4 flat, leather-hard pieces of cheap, low grade beef - completely unchewable. I tried several menu items over my stay, but ultimately decided for the prices they were charging for the "quality", I could eat much better "quality" food in town. (Only a 10 minute walk to many restaurants/cafes). The free breakfast though is enough to start your day.
Overall, Reikartz has become a huge disappointment. (The staff is their saving grace)
The low brow, no class, inconsiderate, pig-like behaviour of their new chosen clientele, is enough for me, to start to look at other hotels for my next return. In fact, there are number of hotels in Kirovograd where you can get this same Reikartz experience I've just described, but you'll only have to pay $25 per night.
