Family rested here for 4 years. This year, apparently, was the last ... The sea, for which they traveled, for the second year is teeming with jellyfish (both the city beach and all the spits - near, middle and far). People mostly walk along the shore or swim on mattresses (but this is not sailing in the sea!). The mayor of the city says to put up with this "wonderful" phenomenon, since it is almost impossible to fight against them, and it is very expensive to install the nets and it will not pay off the holiday season, but, for example, in neighboring Kirillovka they at least tried to install nets and make life easier for vacationers. Plus mosquitoes. Plus the disgusting attitude of local authorities to utilities. For 7 days of rest (living next to the mayor's office in the center) there was no water at all for half a day, 2 days without electricity. How so ?! And everyone is OK ??? We used to love Berdyansk very much, but every year there is more and more disappointment, we will no longer come.
When I approached the hotel, I thought that it does not work at all. Dark building without lighting, even in the rooms you can not see the lights on. In the middle is the same atmosphere.

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel for a summer vacation. The rooms are comfortable, there is a shower, a toilet, a beautiful view from the window) reasonable prices, always silence, peace, the feeling that you live alone in the whole hotel. The cafe around the corner is tasty and not expensive.
I have stayed at the Hotel Berdyansk a number of times since 2009. Yes, it is Soviet but that has it's own charm. The choice of rooms varies from the size of a large closet to something on the order of a gymnasium. The staff have always treated me very well and the ladies in the restaurant are very friendly and helpful. I always arrive with a car and have used the parking at the front door without problem. I like the very convenient location: close to Schmidt Park, The Central Square and it is not far to the Rotunda. There are many shops, pharmacies and ATMs near at hand. I especially enjoy walking down to the Sea and people watching. It's fascinating. Slava Ukraina!
