Guest House Comfort in Berdyansk

We liked the guesthouse – it was clean and cozy, the room had all the amenities, the air conditioning worked well, and towels and bed linen were provided, changed on request. The administrator, Alena, was very attentive, very sensitive, and responsive, offering her assistance. She's ready to answer any questions and help. The yard is quite large, with a barbecue and plenty of clotheslines. It's quiet at night, and the children's sleep was undisturbed during the day, too.
The shared kitchen is large, with a four-burner stove. When the large number of people started checking in at the end of June, there wasn't enough space for cooking, so we had to cook after lights out, as they say.
A cook was promised when we booked, but he (or rather, she) joined the staff only about five days later, by which time we had already had to organize our daily life and figure out food options ourselves (we were traveling with two small children). We still ordered soup for lunch, which cost 30 UAH. Per person, based on average prices at cafes along the way to the beach, it's 20-25 UAH. Nothing extraordinary, although the reviews about the chef were rave; not a single piece of meat (or chicken, we couldn't tell) was missing from our portions, and there was no meat at all. On the day of departure, we ordered two sets of lunch and were completely disappointed. We were once again convinced that the chef, to put it mildly, wasn't very good (the cook's mother was there). There was meat in the soup, but the compote was watery, with a characteristic watery smell typical of those parts. The tomatoes in the salad were spoiled, and even some were rotten. This lunch wasn't worth the price, considering you could buy more and better food for less on the way to the beach. The only downside I can think of is the fact that the sea is far away.... The distance is stated to be short, but you have to walk through rough terrain, cross 6 railway tracks (or an old bridge where the asphalt is visible in some places), instead of sidewalks there are slabs, with potholes between them, and right before the beach there are rails again... Yes, according to Google Maps everything is close and wonderful, unless you're in Berdyansk, but in a tourist town where there are lots of sidewalks and everything is made for people, here they want to make a profit on everything, but the conditions are not very good... But these are questions about the infrastructure, of course, but the roads there... In general, the walk to the sea takes 25-30 minutes, which is long and arduous, since we had to carry the stroller. Well, the beach - there are sooooo many people, the water is dirty, the toilet is far away - children pee in the sea in front of everyone. 😱... There are good beaches, but you need to get to them by car, then it makes sense to live closer to those beaches. Overall, we were pleased with our stay at the Comfort Hotel. The staff strives to provide guests with everything they need. There are many vacationers and many permanent residents, and it's clear that everything is updated, renovated, and meets all the requirements of a modern vacation. A wonderful, quiet place, the staff is very friendly and will help you with any problems you may have. The house has two floors, with the top floor featuring a balcony with tables and chairs, a perfect spot for family meals. The room has everything you need for a relaxing stay.

We absolutely love the Comfort Guest House. The manager, Alena, is an incredible miracle of a hotel. It's very comfortable to stay with small children, and the friendly courtyard makes you never want to leave. The owner has done a great job of ensuring the hotel's convenient location, close to the sea and the nearest bus stations.

There's everything you need for a quiet family vacation. The hotel staff is very welcoming and attentive. The home-cooked food is delicious. Yaroslav sends a big hello to Alyona and Oksana. We highly recommend it. We look forward to seeing you again.
