Nice hotel , clean rooms, excellent price, friendly staff

So... We came in here thinking it looked pretty sketchy. The rooms are outdated, but ours was clean. No bed bugs, nothing broken. It was a warm bed, a hot shower, and an okay breakfast for a really low price. Can't really complain. It's not the Ritz, but it was just fine.

If I could give this hotel a -5 I would. Yes it is cheap, and cheap is what you get. We stayed here for a month only because all other hotels and airbnb’s were booked. Thank god we found somewhere else to stay for the remainder of our trip here! Our room had cockroaches. Lots of them! We went and bought our own roach killer because the hotel did nothing about them. Also, the hotel is infested with mice. You can hear them crawling in the walls. We had mice get into our food and when we told the front desk about them, they gave us sticky traps which didn’t work. We had to go buy our own real traps. We caught 2 during our stay. They didn’t call an exterminator or try and do anything for us at all! The hot water only works in the late evening time but when it did work it was nice and hot. They didn’t clean the rooms at all and when you asked for them to please clean your room, they would make excuses of not having a housekeeper. They finally allowed a groundskeeper to come clean our room once. If you want clean towels, they take yours and you most likely won’t get any back that day. When asked, they would say they don’t have any clean. What kind of hotel doesn’t even have extra towels?! Most of the hotel should be condemned. The whole back side of it is unoccupied and is very creepy. If you can, stay somewhere else! This was the worst place I have ever stayed at! I am really surprised that they don’t have bedbugs as nasty as it is. The roaches and mice were enough to make us feel so gross and nasty!

Stayed here because I didn’t have much choice in Bloomington. The rooms were damp and smelly. They have a mice running around all the rooms as well as roaches. When I asked about what they were doing to fix the problem they handed me sticky traps for the mice. My first room didn’t have a fridge or a microwave and when I asked for one they said they didn’t have any more. When I moved to another room, it didn’t have a microwave. Asked for one and never got one. Housekeeping was nonexistent. No one was trying to alleviate the pest problem. It’s cheap, I’ll give you that. I got out as soon as I could.

I've never had someone not help me to make me feel comfortable. Complained about the holes in the blankets and they told me well your room is smoking. Got here and the pool was closed. All I wanted was help canceling one night so I could get my kids to a pool but nobody seemed to care. Nothing states the pool is closed until you make the reservation and its at the end of the receipt in tiny writing. There is wood missing from the dresser that the TV is stilling on.

Decent for a cheap hotel. They are in the middle of remodeling and it needs it. The bathroom only had one towel and no washcloths; which, we found out before showering the next day. That was a little irritating first thing in the morning. However, the front desk clerk was very apologetic and quick to get us what we needed. You can see the progress in the rooms of the remodel, so we'll stay again when we travel this way again and update the review.

The clerk's were very pleasant. For the price it was a quick and very convenient location to the interstate and restaurants.

Second time staying there. Either the first time wasn't so bad or I was just so exhausted to even care and wanted to give it another go especially since it's quite affordable. We had a smoking room, there wasn't any ashtrays because apparently people love stealing them. In our room there wasn't any microwave, the night stand drawer was broken, the sheets had a few stains, water pressure is low. The breakfast they serve is a joke. All they had was waffles, watery syrup, bread, butter, cereal and milk and bagels with no cream cheese... Pretty disappointing, I was looking for the eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy even though it's fake/frozen. Honestly mainly all I really wanted was the cream cheese for the bagel, the point is there wasn't variety. Staff is friendly though, and the place is quiet .

This hotel is awesome now! The owner has done some major upgrades to the hotel such as new beds, paint, carpet, flat screen tvs, etc! If you have stayed at this hotel in the past you will not even recognize it now! You can not beat the price and all the staff are very friendly and helpful! From speaking to the owner there are many upgrades to come in the near future.

Motel No-Tell... 1. Booked queen smoking room, upon arrival offered to upgrade to King smoking for $5 more... great start. Opened the door to another world. The T.V. (CRT) so old had no Hdmi input for our chromecast, Let's check out the indoor pool! As we approach the front desk he points towards the hallway entrance to the pool area and says "It's not working" to our disbelief and verification, yup the door was locked tight and no lights or water movement, like the pump might have broken down 3 months ago by the color and smell of the water. Green alge, not a particularly pleasant smell. It's just one night. Go back to the room the A/C Heating window unit would not work. I went to pick up the telephone in the room and no dial tone, nothing...I said out loud "this cannot be happening" my boyfriend found the phone was not plugged into the wall. He then turned his attention to the main problem, frayed wires and complete mess of electrical issues that were behind the unit cover. Since we had no television options or pool activities he decided to occupy his time with providing heat. 3 minutes in and vroom on comes the heat. (Your welcome future 226'rs. We went for a walk around the area (not very pedestrian friendly) watch out for the big semi's turning all ways... cutting the adventure short on the way back we both remarked at the run down look and the impending, almost happening right before our eyes, "end of this motels outdoor life expectancy". A few lighting fixtures were not installed correctly but rather installed upside down. The wall paper was coming down off the walls in that tattered way which screamed "Nobody has walked back here for weeks possibly months". We noticed that only 3 other vehicles were parked at the hotel. Walking along side of the building I was looking into the unoccupied rooms and then I snapped! There, right in front of my very own eyes, was a newer style flat panel T.V. looking at me like I was going to just take it and not make a big deal about it.... that was it, I went to the front desk, took a moment, and then asked the young man to please move one of the many available flat panel t.v.'s and place it into our room, he suggested why not move from the king smoking room downstairs to the 2 double bed non smoking room which had the newer style TV we required. I gladly accepted and never looked back at that very large and inconvienient step backwards in time. and we press onward. Upon waking up for the continental breakfast we discovered that breakfast consisted of enough food for a total of 6 people "the three cars noticed the night before" 6 minuture bagles 6 miniature chocolate donuts 6 slices of white breads various plastic utensils a container of milk and another one of orange juice. next to that was a mechanical hand turn container that dispensed stale fruit loops and one of more than 1 day old cheerios. And lastly some regular and decaf prepaired coffee. I went and sat in the car. We ended up eating our breakfast at McDonalds just adjacent to this poor poor eye sore of an Econo Lodge property. I would suggest stopping the renovations on the outer unattached buildings and concentrate on the immediate in your face issues at hand. Once that main building is corrected bulldoze the rest. Why fix or upgrade rooms that cannot or will not be rented. Less buildings = less overhead which In turn provides more clearings and better views from the upgraded rooms. Sorry but I still feel that I'm out my $5 dollar upgrade fee because we ultimately got down graded from a king smoking sliding right thru the original booked queen down to 2 double beds. And I still feel dirty...

update... after reading the rest of the reviews I 100% agree. Bulldoze this establishment. What mini fridge? what microwave? even in the upgraded room none. These local reviewers had to have been coerced! There is no bar at this establishment! To correctly run as a business they need to rent by the hour! Come on Bloomington get with it read your business's reviews and take some action. Unacceptable!
