Description

Sam's Town Hotel & Gambling Hall is a three-star property established in 1979 and renovated in 2005, offering a mix of classic and deluxe rooms, many with views of the indoor park atrium. It stands out for its spacious, clean accommodations that include options such as Deluxe Quadruple rooms and Double Suites with park views. The hotel features a large casino with lower minimum bets, a bowling alley, a movie theater, and a fitness center, providing entertainment suited to families and older guests. Dining options on-site include a restaurant, buffet (currently closed due to the pandemic), Panda Express, McDonald's, and TGI Fridays, with several eateries nearby as well. Guests appreciate the peaceful garden area with a waterfall and laser light shows several times daily, adding a unique atmosphere. Free parking, 24-hour security, and services like currency exchange and car hire enhance convenience. While the hotel is off the main Strip area, it offers a quieter, less crowded experience with friendly staff and a nostalgic Vegas vibe.

Location

Sam's Town is located in Las Vegas on historic Boulder Highway, approximately 10-15 minutes by car from the busiest main roads and central Strip area. Nearby dining options within 200 meters include Firelight Buffet (119 m), TGI Fridays (127 m), and Papa John's Pizza (195 m). The hotel provides free parking and has easy vehicle access, which guests find convenient compared to many central Vegas hotels. The property is set apart from the loud, crowded Strip, situated in a quieter neighborhood. There are shuttle services available to downtown and the Strip, facilitating travel for guests without cars. The exact coordinates are 36.111778 latitude and -115.060989 longitude.

Tips

  • If you prefer quieter nights, request a room facing the parking lot rather than the atrium to avoid noise from the laser light shows.
  • Bring your own toiletries since disposable toothbrushes and cups are not provided.
  • Take advantage of free parking and the shuttle service to explore downtown and the Strip without hassle.

This place was absolutely spectacular for our travels during a basketball tournament. Clean, friendly staff and easy accessibility to everything.

Quite old rooms. Service personnel were nice and kind but rooms are not very comfortable especially if you are here for an exhibition

It’s a nice enough hotel. If you don’t want to be on the loud very populated strip..this is doable. Not the best part of town by the looks of the neighborhoods around it. We were definitely the youngest people in the casino by far..and bonus..they have scooters that you can use is you need one lol.

The room was above average. The carpet was quite new for an old hotel. The garage was too run down and dark in the night. The food court is decent and well priced.

Everything at the hotel was fine, except for the food at the Panda Express restaurant, the shrimp and chicken was undercooked.

The price is affordable, offering great value for money, though breakfast isn't included. There are both Chinese and Western fast food options right downstairs, just not many choices. The location is convenient, not far from the busiest main road, and it's about a 10-15 minute drive if you're self-driving. The hotel itself is old and has a strong smell of smoke, but luckily the rooms are still decent.

Spacious clean comfortable room if you don't mind being too far away from the *****. On-site ******, bowling alley, and movie theater.

This a great buffet for the price. The service is great especially Carol from New York.

Deserts are stale and tasteless. Food selection minimal. Second time I came and the omelette station was closed. There are heat Wells broke so even a less selection of food. Even the salad bar is cleaned out. No one is filling the selections. Service is poor. I will stop coming here. Boyd gaming is getting too cheap. I will go to Boulder station next time.

I was not really impressed with this place. The line for dinner on a Friday night was outrageous. And the price was steep, in my opinion. We ended up skipping it Friday night because we didn't want to wait that long to get in. We did go there Saturday morning for breakfast. The selection was decent for people without food allergies. There was next to nothing for people with gluten allergies. I am one who cringes at eggs that are not firm and cooked, and their scrambled eggs were definitely not firm. Otherwise the selection was okay. I cannot heartily recommend this Buffet.

Too bad I can't give 0 stars. Definitely never eating here again. Ordered takeout one night and had to wait 45 minutes for the salad probably only got the salad then because I needed to go to get downstairs to bowling on time. Did they have to grow the veggies? Another time ordered a burger and had it undercooked and greasy the first time the second time they tried to cook it too fast and burnt it so I still couldn't eat it. Most the servers and bartenders are rude and management is definitely not helpful. I work hard for my money and if I am spending it on food I would like it to be for a place that appreciates my business.

Food came out cold. Sent it back and 30 minutes later almost warm food came out. Slow service went along with charging for the free chips.
Go to any other TGI, avoid this one.

Friday's has always been one of my favorite restaurants to go with family, but today I had one of the worst experiences ever. As a server I always try to give other servers second chances to correct mistakes they make while out eating. Our servers name was Holly not only did she take 20 minutes to bring us water and 2 beers which she messed up in the size, she was also very rude! When we asked her if she had put our order in for our beer she had the nerve to roll her eyes at us for her mistake! We went for happy hour and we were planning on ordering some more appetizers for our group but she was no where to be found, it's as if she hid for long periods of time waiting for happy hour to end. I try not to judge a server for being slow or even a little forgetful because we all make mistakes including my self, but being rude for your own mistakes is uncalled for. We do appreciate the manager who was working at the time, because he was understanding and he did try fixing the crappy experience she gave us. He was very professional and kind, but unfortunately it wasn't enough to fix the rude attitude she brought to our table. Won't ever be back to this location.

I had breakfast here this morning. The food was good but the service was not. Our food took forever to come out and the restaurant wasn't even that busy. I would not recommend this place if you are in a hurry.
28.07.2017 Vee
Thanks the Lord for the server Lametris who is responsible for them getting 1 star. She was awesome. The manager Paul was disgustingly condescending when I told him my drink didn't taste like it had alcohol in it. $9.50 I should taste it. He said Friday's does that on purpose! Really?? I am here right now and wish I had chosen someplace else to eat. Friday's I know you can do better..

Great pizza. Sending more business to him since dropping the NFL anchor from his neck. Go Pizza.

Well if you order online whatever the estimated time is add an extra 25-30 mins to it. Twice this happens done with this store.
04.11.2017 Travis
Worst service I have ever experienced with a delivery driver. Extremely rude. Started raising his voice at me because he couldn't find the place. Telling me I did everything wrong when in fact he couldn't find us which wasn't our fault at all. Started cussing because he left the receipt in his car. His name was Steven Biancosino. I called the manager to complain and he seemed irritated as well. Very unprofessional place and I will NEVER order from there again.

So i called for a delivery, im on boulder hwy and lamp, this store is on nellies and boulder hwy..... I request a delivery and they looser manager said they dont delivery to my area, so i request him to give a number of another store so i can call and his dumb ass just keep saying we dont delivery on that area..... By the way i google papa johns and this location was the nearest to me.......
01.09.2017 Ronnie
order was taken and delivery time was 70 to 80 minutes because of lack of drivers. You shouldn't take orders if you can't keep up with the delivery or offer a discount when telling me my food was going to be cold when it got here. Won't order from this franchise again.
