Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Albany

I read the reviews before we booked but did not look at the ratings. Should have!
I will begin with turning around behind the building to park and the back door was ajar. Now the front door needs room key. What's the point?
We unpacked and got into an empty lobby as apparently this building had been a separate hotel at one time. It smelled musty and very much like marijuana. The hall carpet was very dirty and smelled, and continued into the room.
The room had possibility's of being nice and appealing if the carpet would have been gone and the room color something other then hot orange sunshine. I came to rest and relax calmly.
The bed slept well, but only had 3 small pillows and a blanket for a twin bed on a king size bed. Had to call for a blanket that fit a king bed so we both would have a warm cover and it did not smell fresh.
The bathroom was clean, but we do construction and all was very sloppy workmanship while redoing such as chalking, etc.
The furnature was OK and with a little TLC, all could be a really nice hotel. But it would good to take a hall at a time and redo the flooring and go over the rooms.

Checked out as quickly as possible.
My boyfriend and I check in and were already unsure because the hallway was dirty and smelled like cigarette smoke. Our room was decent and the bed was comfortable. There were some random markings and the light fixtures flickered but it was fine. Until we were in our room about an hour after we checked in and the door was unlocked with a key card. The door guard came undone as the door was opened and a woman came into our room. We told her the room was occupied and she continued to walk into the room. She said “Oh, you checked in?” and then finally left. We checked out immediately. The place itself would have sufficed, but that was unacceptable. If you’re staying somewhere, the least you could expect is some privacy and a working lock. Let alone someone with knowledge that a room is occupied!!!! Ridiculous, I would advise anyone to stay anywhere but here.

This place was disgusting. I knew it wouldn't be much but wow it was bad. Definitely a sketchy vibe. Was worried about my stuff in the car the whole time. Cigarette burns everywhere. First room had hornet infestation and the second room had a bed so old it sagged as if someone died in it and they didn't find the body for a year. No towel replacement or room cleaning but you better believe the dude was there promptly at 11am to kick us out.
The whole property is forgotten about and if it wasn't for electricity I would swear we were camping in a recently abandoned hotel. Come to think of it, it could be abandoned and the owners are just squatting. That would explain a lot.

Pot, dirty carpets, and medical waste.

I would give this zero stars if I could, at least if you have a family with you. This place is not safe for children. We tried two rooms, relocating after we saw how bad the first one was. Both the rooms were rundown, the furniture was worn and broken, there were stains and holes in the walls, the carpets were caked with ground-in dirt, and the whole place reeked of pot. Beyond that, there were no screens on the third floor, and beds were pushed against the heating units - safety hazard. Worst of all, we opened a drawer and found a bag of some kind of medical waste or supply, we think. We could not stay there and had to get back on the road to our next destination. Absolutely disgusting!

Absolutely awful! We reserved a non-smoking room and were supposed to stay 4 nights. When we arrived the whole place reeked of marijuana and cigarettes. And the room was missing toiletries. We had to stay the night due to it being so late and left first thing in the morning. When I asked the front desk for a receipt of our early check out they refused. When we escalated it to the managers he offered to provide us 3 complimentary nights and still would not refund us. When contacted the hotel again so I could speak with the owner front desk refused to provider me contact details so I could escalate the situation. We rented through Priceline and they also were very little help. Absolutely disgusting!

Room smelled of paint so strongly, clueless staff at front desk who was also rude, bathroom was filthy, burn holes in the quilts on the bed, very small and cramped, equipment from workers all over the hallway, was asked for weed when we went to breakfast, asked for tub stopper and extra pillows the day we got in and never received the items. Pool an hot tub was closed. Outlets in the room very loose and barely worked, loose wires and outlet covers, alarm clock was on the floor behind nightstand in a pile of cords, loud music or TV at night till pretty late. This stay was awful, will not be staying here again.
