High Peaks Resort is on the main street through Lake Placid, putting it within walking distance of a broad seletion of restaurants, bars and shops. We had a balcony view, but never looked outside because it was usually dark by the time we got back from skiing. The pool and jacuzzi also looked nice, but we never got a chance to try it out. Staff was friendly.

We stayed in the main building and loved the attention to holidays and activities for the family from movie nights to painting and face painting. The room was clean, the facilities were well kept. Overall a great stay and service was wonderful.

It was great overall. But when i made reservation i didnt know i was not in main hotel but suxilliary building. It eas nicely located on the lake. But i wanted to b in hotel proper.

I stayed there for 5 nights and my card key stopped working twice during my stay - both time due to wrong checkout dates. How difficult can it be for a front desk person to register a guest for the right duration? Also I asked if the breakfast was included and was told “no”. The morning I checked out I noticed there was a free continental breakfast at the lobby. The room was nice but employees were not professional.

We arrived on a very busy weekend and everything was great from check in thru check out. The room was meticulously cleaned and the entire staff, including the restaurant wait staff, were great. Already looking for a reason to go back.

Everything was excellant, however High Peaks loses one star for hot water issues. Most times, we had to wait an extremely long time for the hot water (~5 mins.+) At, the sink, we often gave up and just washed up with cold water.

Waited 5 minutes for a hostess to even appear and seat us, they weren’t busy at all. Our waitress had no personality, got our orders wrong and didn’t even apologize for it. Way overpriced for the quality of food.

I would give really give them 3.5 stars. Definitely better than ok. Just had the cheese board. Ample portions and varieties. Nice view. Attractive settings, clean. Worth a try. Good spacing between the tables

Nice outdoor/rooftop bar & patio. Great view of Lake Placid. We had the Chicken Nachos. The nachos were pretty good. The service was a little slow. Staff seemed bored. Business had slowed down after Labor Day weekend. We ordered a Cheeseburger that night from the downstairs bar to go back up to our room. The Cheeseburger was delicious!

Great restaurant attached to the high peaks resort Hotel. The staff were friendly and the food was great! They serve morning coffee in calling mugs and that was just freaking great.

Food was delicious. Definitely a little more pricey than some other spots though. I had the black bean vegetable burger and it was absolutely delicious. I had everyone try it and they all loved it. The pizza dough was really good but toppings were skimpy. Nice atmosphere for family or a couple friends hanging at the bar. Will definitely come back.
Update: went back there and was definitely not as good. Service was sub par. And the good was mediocre. I would say skip this place and go to lake placid pub and brewery.

INCREDIBLE lake view! I was there when it was quiet, but staff very attentive, friendly, polite - food was great. I had the Steak & Gorg salad, and sometimes the steak on those can be an afterthought, it was cooked perfectly!

Wonderful food and service. I had the daily special salad. It was strawberry and goat cheese salad and had field greens , strawberries, sliced almonds, carmelized onions, and goat cheese topped with balsamic vinaigrette. My companions had Jimmy Burger and Eggplant Parmigiana sandwich. All delicious! Beautiful views of Mirror Lake through huge picture windows. Nice ambiance in restaurant. Thoroughly enjoyed my lunch there !

We were there on the New Year’s Eve and did’t have a reservation. The place was packed, but after 20 minutes waiting and the bar they gave us a table. Nice. Good job.
Nice, small, cozy place. Good steaks, and French Onion soup. The wine list should be bigger with a better selection of steak’s wine. Duck’s wings is to die for.

Asked the waiter for his choice and he said the Ribeye. For a $47 dollar steak one would think he would be able to eat most if not all of it. The meat was mostly fat and grissle. We had a small child that preferred to bring his own meal from another restaurant and we were forced to pay an 18% tip even with 5 of the others eating at the facility. If your into going in and having $150 in alcohol and $100 in a meal for your family this may be the place. Not for a family of 6 that doesn’t drink.

We had a wonderful experience and ate great food. It was our first time here and would definitely be back. Yes prices may be high for some pockets but we expected it since it's a steak and seafood place! Waitress was fun,didn't take long and food tasted awesome, highly recommend.

Friendly staff and great food. We were traveling with our dogs and were looking for a dog friendly place to eat and this is it! We ate on the terrace and even our pups were served a nice bowl of water. I will return to this place when I'm in the area and recommend it to anyone going to Lake Placid.

One of the best restaurants in the area. Good variety of food, all done nicely. Very good quality for the cost. If you are a beer lover, you'll like the wide array of their own brews. If not, try their root beer! This place is a great choice for a nicer dinner.
