Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium

I went to this zoo for the first time a few days ago. We had a good time! The outdoor exhibits look well planned and comfortable for the animals. The layout of the zoo is circular, so you don't really have to think about which way to go.

The construction by the pygmy hippo looked almost complete and it will be a lot of fun for kids when it is finished!

The burger at the grill by the giraffes was the best burger I've ever eaten at a zoo. Pleasantly surprised!

If you have a stroller or a wheelchair it is helpful to have a 2nd person since I didn't see any buttons to open doors.

This is a tremendous zoo. It isn't overly large so if you only have a couple hours you can see pretty much everything. They have all the major animals are have really improved some of the exhibits in the past 10 years. There is a great kids area work a playground and petting zoo. The aquarium in great. In the winter they let the penguins march outside and you can get right next to them. It's really fun! Check the zoo website for details.

Absolutely MAGNIFICENT. The zoo is the NUMBER 1 place to visit in Pittsburgh IMO. The zoo is home to a wide variety of animals with spectacular close up views of tigers, leopards, elephants, monkeys, gorillas, (the best of them all) Polar Bears and much more!

The pricing is very reasonable and totally worth it. Will definitely visit with friends and family.

The pittsburgh zoo is one of the best zoos I've ever been to. I love to visit this place as much as possible. This zoo is constantly under improvement and renovations. They are always adding some sort of new exhibit with all sorts of exotic animals. On top of that, the Pittsburgh Zoo is not just for the people's entertainment but they are always giving back to nature and helping to conserve the animals and plants we love so much. For example they have a sea turtle and coral rescue center that nurses injured and or sick life back to health to be released again. I would highly recommend this zoo to people of all ages, young and old alike.

This is a nice zoo, cool polar bear experience if they are out swimming. You can pack a lunch and save money. There is lots of walking and hills so wear comfortable shoes and bring water because it can get hot.

Fantastic zoo which is constantly getting updated. All the animals look healthy and are easy to see. They only lose a star because what used to be a good food selection is now only greasy fried foods or salads drowning in salty dressing. Bring a picnic and you'll have a great time.

Best Zoo I've been to so far! It was very easy to navigate through. All the animals weren't out due to weather but we was able to see plenty. Will be visiting again in spring. My kids loved it. Frozen and all!!!

Went for the Santa Penguin March and really the Aquarium. We went in December so lots of animals were inside it was 40 º F. The penguin walked by all the kids and they loved it. The aquarium is very nicely set up and has tropical fish as well as lots of tanks with fish in North America.

I just checked for the winter hours at the Pittsburgh Zoo. I started taking my kids there 25 years ago. Always as clean as you could expect a zoo to be. A huge variety of exotic animals. The Pittsburgh Zoo is one of the finest in the world in my opinion.that stars!
