Strand Hotel in Myrtle Beach

The reviews aren't being dramatic, please read them before you book. I was skeptical about visiting due to the reviews, but I was on a trip with my family, and they had already booked our rooms here. The place was sketchy and nasty, the pool had cigarette ashes floating in the water, the TV had no signal, and the front desk provided poor service. Worst of all, this place is INFESTED with roaches. From the parking lot to the rooms, there are roaches everywhere. On my last night here, there was a huge roach on the bedroom wall. I would give this place a 0 if I could.

Don't do it. Any review over 2 stars is fake. Pictures Don't represent the actual state of the hotel!

Everything broken, filthy, bugs, smells, garbage and lack of housekeeping as long as you stay. Only positive is location but that doesn't even make up for this place.

Thank heavens for chargebacks because the no refunds policy and related should tell you all you need to know.

Avoid at all costs.

By far the worst place we stayed at. It cost us over 2000 dollars for 4 nights and 2 rooms. We get there and the rooms were filthy. Baseboards all nasty. Lifted up one of our mattresses and it looked like someone took a dump and flipped the bed over. We had black mold in our room. What tops it all off I was woke up with a roach crawling on my arm. Management needs to do better with this place. And also the bathroom door was broke and it locked my niece in the bathroom to where she couldn't get out of and we couldnt get in without taking the door apart. Our bathroom door was on backwards. Microwave had old food in it. And our hair dryer in the men's room had burn marks on the cord and when powered on it was throwing sparks everywhere. The beds are rock hard.then when you email the company that runs this place they say oh well look into it and never respond after. Better Business bureau has been notified and keep notifying them til this place is shut down. They offer nothing in return. That's why they have you sign a waiver from the get go and don't explain what it is either cause they've had so many complaints they don't want to take care of their customers. They only care about making their money. I've seen hood houses in better condition than this.

This was a terrible place to stay at! I went with my husband and his grandfather. The pool was alright but it is a very loud hotel. Even the doors shutting was loud. Two of us couldn’t sleep because of all the people laughing and screaming and on top of that FIREWORKS? We were trying to sleep so we could go out and enjoy our vacation. There is NO breakfast at all even tho the person even at the front desk said there would be. The bathroom in our room was disgusting too!!!!!!! When I walked in there the hair dryer was left on the sink. None of us showered there because we were so disgusted.

If I could leave this place a "0" star review, I would. It's VERY dirty and disgusting. Pictures speak more than words, but this place is horrible, could not stay longer than one night, had to find another hotel. Mold in the shower, shower is broken, The towels are dirty, the floor is dirty, the linens have stains of paint on them, there is no comforters on bed, the microwave is disgusting, the mirror and the lamp and everything else. Oh, I wish people would not lie because this is a complete rip-off. They have nice pictures on the website and on Google maps, but in reality, it is a HORRIBLEPLACE TO STAY IN!!! The carpet is ripped even on the stairs outside, NOT SAFE AT ALL!!! Oh, and there is no breakfast as promised on the website. Do NOT RECOMMEND!!!
