Sonesta Select Chattanooga Hamilton Place in Chattanooga

Showed up here after a thunderstorm and they had the whole place covered with those carpet blowers to dry it out, so there are definitely leaks. There's a pretty heavy smell of mildew in the corridors, probably mold under the carpet or something because I didn't see any visible mold anywhere (thankfully).

The toilet ran all night. This seems to be a common occurrence in lower end places these days. I can't imagine the amount of money wasted instead of fixing it (we;'re talking a $10 part). It's also annoying. I just kept the bathroom door closed.

Bed was comfortable. Furniture was fine but kind of too bulky. I like the layout of the room, they don't really make them like this anymore.

Pretty noisy hotel. People coming and going all night long from their rooms (it's *that* kind of place.) Very narrow corridors and low ceilings, they don't build motels like this anymore. I guess it used to be a Marriott Courtyard ages ago.

Overall kind of sketchy but not enough to make you want to leave. I parked near the Red Lobster which is well lit and open late. I wouldn't stay here again though. Better options in the area.

When we checked in, we politely asked the front desk if it would be possible to have a quieter room. The receptionist responded that we were “not really in a position to be picky” because the hotel was fully booked. However, this didn’t seem accurate, as the hotel appeared to be only partially occupied until the weekend. The tone felt unnecessarily dismissive.
🔊 There is no elevator, which may be inconvenient for some guests. The first floor had a strong smell of marijuana, likely coming from a long-term occupant. At night, groups of young people gathered outside, playing loud music, and during the day there was noticeable noise from nearby highway construction.
🏊‍♂️ The pool was closed for the season, which would have been helpful to know in advance.
🐶 The hotel is dog-friendly, with a fee of $25 per day. However, in other hotels within the same chain, we’ve typically been charged a flat $75 per stay (for stays longer than three days), so this pricing felt inconsistent.
🔑 We had ongoing issues with the room keys. We had to have them reprogrammed three separate times, as they repeatedly stopped working, sometimes for the exterior doors, and other times for the room itself.
🏢 On the positive side, the bed was comfortable, and although the room was small, it had everything we needed: a refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave, and iron. The location is also convenient, with shopping centers nearby.
🚛 Parking for larger vehicles (such as a semi-truck) was not allowed, as the larger parking areas are reserved for tour buses.

Tired and worn out from driving all day. Got to the hotel and they couldn't find our reservation. We had to pay again, therefore we paid twice. Still waiting on our refund!! The front desk area was packed with people and there was only ONE person doing everything!!! CHRIS MILLER!!! Chris was awesome, kind, patient and knowledgeable. If it weren't for Chris we would have just left. First room smelled like cigarette smoke so we couldn't stay in it but then Chris found us another room that was ok. Chris is the most valuable employee you have and definitely a huge asset to your team!! Thank you Chris!!! The entire experience was a nightmare and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Management definitely needs to get their act together. Again, THANK YOU Chris, you were the ONLY reason we stayed.
