Hampton Inn Green Bay Downtown in Green Bay

Not a good stay. Went out to GB for a game, and have to say that this was by far the worst part.
We got to the room and immediately noticed that the room had an odor.... a funk. It smelled like something rotten. We went out to grab food and stopped at the desk to let them know about it. She assured us that someone would take care of it.
The next day, we went out and about for the late morning and afternoon. When we returned about four hours later, our room had not been cleaned or remade. A short time later, we left again to head to the game (Go Pack). When we came back to our room hours later, we found our door open/ajar, with the deadbolt out, which had to be done from the inside. Thankfully, we had our valuables with us and nothing had been taken. I went down to the desk to complain (now about midnight) and the girl at the counter seemed genuinely surprised. Our room had still not been made, and it still smelled. As I complained, she told me that there was no record of anyone being in our room for any reason. She assured us we would get a call from someone to at least apologize, which never came either.

The door issue was never explained or addressed.
The room was never made.
The smell was never addressed.

The staff was pleasant
The bathroom was clean
The location was about 15 minutes by shuttle from the stadium.
There are places to eat within walking distance.

The only redeemable part of my visit here was the friendly front desk staff. The pool had so much chlorine in it that almost all of my friends who went in it got sick and puked. The breakfast in the morning tasted funky to say the least, while the "fresh" pineapple tasted like urine. The pillows had the texture of sandpaper. Hotels are supposed to be a place you can grab some rest for the next day but I think I could have rested better in my car.
