Asmald Palace Hotel in Kokand

We stayed one night in a triple room (206) with my husband and 9 years old child. I made the reservation through the hotel's web site and on arrival they could not find the reservation. I went outside to get internet connection and showed them my email. They found it (3 people looking at one computer). There is no lift in the hotel but they helped with the lugagge. The room was extremely unsatisfactory:
- one of the windows lacked seal on the glass so one could hear the local crowd shouting in the pool (open until 10 pm)
- carpet dirty and full of stains
- one of the beds had broken matress (I realized when I went to bed)
- the air conditioning made tertible noise, so to sleep is quite difficult while it is on
- there was almost no gel nor shampoo in the refillable bottles (the one of gel broken apart from empty)
- towels smelling of tobacco (I complained and it took like 40 min to bring clean and not stinky towels and more shower gel)
- toilet brush broken
- bathtub leaking (attention if you are travelling with your elders, there is no shower but a high bathtub)
It is true that I complained and they offered changing the room but we had already unpacked and I refused.

Then we go to the swimming pool. The pool is not just for the hotel customers but for everybody. Packed with men, not one single lady, all the sits taken, everybody shouting and jumping and SMOKING. This is very important because IT IS NOT A HOTEL TO GO WITH CHILDREN. Inside the hotel smoking is not allowed, but you take your child to the pool and is surrounded by smoke. That's why the towels smelled like smoke.
The state of the pool is not to be trusted. My husband took our son to the pool because he insisted, and when entering through the stairs where it is full of bubbles, he cut his toe, including the nail. Nothing which could not be solved but be aware of this.
Breakfast served in Amazonia restaurant, completely non hygenic decor of plastic plants on the ceiling. We did not eat much.
On the check out process, They tried to charge more money that I had on my reservation pretending it was the tourist tax (I was supposed to pay 82$ and they wanted to charge 13.30 $ more under the concept registracion service). We had a private guide and he told us the tourist tax is in the price of the room so I rejected being overcharged).

In the end, because all the terrible service, they oferred a discount and we paid 60$.
