Our birdwatching group stayed here for 2 nights. The entrance hall is very grand but the bedroom I was in was very outdated, and the curtains were not big enough to close across the vast window. Located in its own park this hotel sports a grand lobby, enormous rooms and a range of services. The room was a bit run down though, and the food in the restaurant mediocre. A very noisy party dominated the evening. Personally I prefer a smaller hotel with more character.

This hotel is just yard away from the slopes and after a long day skiing all you want is to get to return to the room and rest. The rooms are basic, clean and have everything you need. The staff are very friendly and go the extra mile to help and assist. We checked other hotel around and Alva cannot be faulted.

I booked the room on the top floor, attic, but it felt really cool and comfortable even though there was no elevator, so you had to walk five floors. I went there on a rainy day, so it was not convenient to see everything around me. This place is perfect for long-term relaxation. Especially, it has a really great hot water pool.

We stayed at the property in April 2025. It is located close to the ski resort, and the overall compound is excellent, with plenty of amenities available. The staff was very supportive, and the breakfast was decent. Area of Improvement: Parking is not available near the reception area, which made luggage transfer a bit inconvenient.
