Great location, clean room, great pool and spa

The place is great. 2 great bedrooms. The oool is nice and the underground gated paring - a rare find in such amazing location. All this gets 5 out of 5.
Yet - checkout at 10 am - the earliest I have ever seen ( platinum in all apps so travel a lot ).
And second - it was Christmas Eve - so no one was from the stuff but a fri k resident was knocking on the doors from 3 am till 7 am and we couldn’t take a sleep. Not the hotels fault. But did damage our experience.

I would say if they had a better flex on checkout I would give a 5

Like most of the motels & hotels in Byron Bay, Eco Beach Resort is overpriced. The only Eco about it is not changing your sheets for 8 days, (which is fine by me), not providing any milk, sugar and poor quality coffee, (so cheap), tea & coffee etc is not replaced. At the end if you do not do your dishes, make sure unit is clean they warn you (once there) they will fine you!!! Despite the price of the unit the mattress was an extremely cheap one which had worn springs, was unsupportive and caused pain. The unit we were in looked tired, with some faults, not what you expect for the money. The only good features are the units seem very sound proof, there is good safe off street parking and the outdoor spa which was working well. No current close beach access. Staff were caring but they don't own the units, which are individually owned!

Reception open limited hours. If you arrive after 3pm no way of contacting anyone unless you have phone that works in Australia. Room very tired and not clean. Handles and toilet roll holder coming off wall. Questionable marks on curtains and doors - blood? Mouldy food left in cupboard and crockery unclean, with dried on food remaining. Drawer unit left full of other people’s clothes. No way of double locking door, so did not feel safe. Absolutely no sound proofing. Could have joined in conversation with neighbours at 6am. Remote to a/c unit hidden in room. Ceiling fan only as didn’t find remote til we were leaving. Additional charges for everything, from dish washing soap to extra towels. Fined if don’t remove own rubbish before leaving.

You get an confirmation email asking you to call them before 12 o'clock on check in day so they can give you a room number etc. Self check in only. THEY DON'T ANSWER THE PHONE OR REPLY TO TEXT MESSAGE. Rate 0/10 by default.

The picture on the booking sight was not the same as the apartment we were staying in. Totally different apartment.
After we arrived at the Eco Beach Resort about 6pm, we looked our keys by accident in the room. We rang the property after hours number and we were told we had to wait till 7pm for the security guy to come and open the room for us and that he is on site. When we rang at 7.30pm we were told that the security guy is offside and we going to be charge $80 call up fee. Two different stories and I can't believe we were charge for it!!!!!

Byron Bay Stay!
We had a lovely stay. Comfortable bed and spacious apartment. Great location. A short walk to the bars and restaurants.

Accomodation (the room) was good, however the spa/lift was out of service for the whole week of the stay with no attempt to resolve. The front desk was not serviced often with no where to store bags on the day of leaving
